...bit I wouldn't have a 4motion Passat. It may have a Torsen dif drivetrain like, say, a B5 S4 but it's 2.8V6 is missing a couple of turbos somewhere. Sorry OP, 193bhp does not a Q-car make.
And 193 is all I've had for the last two years

Unless fitted with an Eaton M62 supercharger: iro 300bhp http://www.pes-tuning.com/There are a few in the UK.

Stick a blower on it and easy 400 bhp in an old mans estate car It's almost completely different under the skin, including the little matter of converting it from FWD to RWD. If I ever win the lottery, I'm going to buy another one in a really dull Rover colour - silver or Navy Blue maybe - then get a blower, fit the lowering kit and get custom exhausts made up, including turned down rear pipes so that I can hide them behind a Rover 75 bumper. That would be the ultimate Q car. My current, ever so slightly green one probably slightly fails the Q car test on colour!

Evidently the suggestion of the old W124 Mercedes 500E is spot-on! The current E500 is fairly Q too.
Another modern equivalent in my view would be a BMW 550i - an M5 is obviously not a 520d no matter how many badges you remove, whereas the 550i could exactly be a 520d with nice alloys.
The S6/RS6/S4/RS4 are like the M5 - too many spangly bits to be really Q.
Volvo S80 V8 - there's another good candidate.

I reckon the b6 s4 debadged makes a great q car. Looks like any other almost sline kitted a4 but has a stonking v8.
