Anyone else seeing Ferrari 575M / 599 ?
If you see a red Sports Coupe, you always see a 'Ferrari' (well almost always - except of course all the PH Geeks).

No, I see '65 - '67 Stingray, in Ice Blue would look just the part. n2a already created a 'Ferrette', see the Anteros on http://www.n2amotors.com/cars.html

Well ..... only around the headlights/bonnet air intake area .... and that is only a sketch.

The split rear screen early Chevrolet Corvette Stingray (to give it the full mantle) was a truly iconic car .... in a world where 'iconic' is over used.

I'm not sure that I'm a huge fan of the retro thing generally ..... but this could be really cool if it lives up to the hype.

First Corvettes were Sting Rays, Grand Sport, Split screen etc. 2nd body shape was Stingray.
C2s were Sting Rays, C3s were Stingrays (and then only C3 up to 76 were officially badged that was IIRC).

This was the first Corvette - well, a later facelift of it anyway. C1 1955-1962

Great at last the American car industry is waking up to the fact that good cars sell! Quite frankly American cars have been rubbish since 1972 until recently.

Looks very similar to the one in True Lies, which I watched the other night...

Gotta be on my list of lottery cars that one...

I love the idea of modern running gear 60s and 70s muscle cars; here is one of my favourites cloud9

So what they seem to have done here is create a C2 replica body shape that is just enough different not to infringe copyrights and bung it on a C6 platform?

I have to ask why? For the money you'd spend why not buy an original C2 if you like the shape, it looks way better than this.

Great idea, modern twist on wonderful classic styling BUT the front needs more work. The way the headlights have been incorporated is all wrong, they need to be placed in the leading edge of the front bodywork, or even concealed in the front edge with rolling pods just like the original. Then we would have had true modern interpretation of the Stingray and I would hand over my credit card - ahem.

The removal of the headlights would make the car look like the original.

Asides from that minor flaw, looks gorgeous. Would like to see a GS version smile

Best I can tell you is that particular car is based on a C5 chassis though I believe there's also a C6 option.
More pix and details on the links below. I think they're converted by an oufit called crcoachworks,
