I'm disappointed about it. Everything except the fact that Z4M prices will come down disappoints me about this car.

Perhaps the previous SLK55? Not a bad car actually. Not a BAD car just a bit poncey, although a friend of mine (female) had the 350 and it was constantly at the dealers being fixed, so quality very poor for cost of car.

Don't rise to it... been here 4 months and doesn't list his own cars in his profile. My guess is, he yearns for such a car.

Actually I think, the new Z4 looks better than its predecessor, even, if I get beaten for it on this forum. As far, as I´ve learned, two ladies were in charge with both, exterieur and interieur design. IMO BMW should have kicked Bangle to the moon years ago.

would like to see it in black or red not grandad beige but it lacks character. I didnt like bangles other stuff but the z4 was well good, especially in coupe form which is the dogs imho. as for the roof i hate it...its a sports car for c sake and it should be light weight with true soft top. Looks way too soft now.

IMO the Z4 was a mans car..it rode hard, looked agressive and sharp..this is the Z4 with its balls cut off.

Looks wise it looks good in my opinion, but that roof is a mistake. Its now too heavy to be taken seriously.
Maybe they will so a coupe with a fixed roof one day thats lighter but thats a big maybe I fear.
For now I'll stick with my Z4mc.

I wonder if or when they are going to do a coupe version of the new car...? Have just been considering a nearly new Z4 coupe, but there's a limited amount available as it would appear they have stopped making them as a result of the new Z4 coming out, but there's no mention in any of the press blurb about whether BMW are going to make a coupe or not of the new car

There was a black pre launch model parked in the paddock at Silverstone on Saturday. I accept that styling is subjective, but in the metal and in black, the car looks aggressive. Parked next to the outgoing Z4 Roadster, it makes the old car look dated. It attracted quite a bit of attention on Saturday and regularly had clumps of people around it.
Photographing a beige car against a concrete wall of the same colour was never going to do the car any favours.
Perhaps you should reserve judgement until you see one in the flesh... then by all means fire away.

How can the folding hard top make a coupe obsolete? The current Z4 coupe has quite a useful load area with good access via the hatch,......whereas a folding roof hard top has feck all usuable space in comparsion. And I don't want a sodding roadster Oh well, back to the drawing board

I wont be replacing my Z4M R with one of those. More likely to keep it and an E46 M3 or 330i or D as a commuter.

Cannot beleive the weight of the new Z4 and the 0-60 times seem mighty quick considering. I've never timed my coupe but I swear the 0-60 is sub 4.7
TBH it looks like they have taken a step back from the old Z4 and its lost its edge. Will definatly appeal to the opposite sex. I won't be rushing out to get one, unless the make an V8 M version. Which won't happen due to cost margins.. Going by these prices an M version would be a basic 47K.. GULP.. Granted my coupe was 47K new but that was full loaded..

I saw one at Silverstone at the weekend in Black and I have to say it looked great in the flesh. It did make the older car ( of which I have one and love it) look a little dated all of a sudden.
It is bigger and fatter though. Maybe room for a Z1 or Z2 now.

Did anyone ever do something silly and shove a V8 or V10 in the old Z4 at all a la the Z3 Shnitzer or the Hartge coupe?

Hi Owen I hear rumours that its great fun to drive, has far less scuttle shake than the outgoing model, less wind noise, the boot is huge with the roof up and will take two sets of golf clubs (should you be of that persuasion). With the roof down there is still a fair bit of boot space (similar to the old Z3), but access is restricted. Apparently
