Smallist - 50cc moped.
In the world of bikes a single cylinder 50cc is even close to the smallest

I think there was some nutty multi cylinder things doing very very silly rpm

Ok, so this isn't in a car but this thread reminded me of the Cummins diesel monstrosity i saw at Goodwood FOS last year. 50litre V16 3.125 l/cyl

Anyway, back to the facts ...

I'm sure I saw a 1.5 litre V12 at the Donington Collection a few years ago.

Did they ever build the Connaught type-D? That was a 2 litre V10 IIRC, so 200cc per cylinder.

Wasn't there a famous honda six that was 250cc total?

Not sure about that, but Kawasaki made the Inline 4, ZXR250R, which was a four stroke, which was actually 249cc IIRC. That gives you a cylinder capacity of only 62.25cc per cylinder.

Revved to a redline of 21,000 rpm.
