Mate had a CL600 - heard even getting a new set of spark plugs fitted from the dealer was eye-wateringly expensive
Mate also had one, he quoted these quite often, £500 for the spark plug change. 24 plugs at ~£25 each. yikes

They may or may not be recieving a short back and sides, i.e. a haircut.

So who's going to phone them up and ask for the MOT certificate number. Then we can put it into here and find out some more information:

Fair cop. If I have caused offence in this manner unintentionally then I apologise. No offence was meant.

What I would also say, in the politist possible terms, is that you were damnably quick to reach for the R card when it was un-necessary mechsympathy. I'll not go as far as to say that your attitude stinks, but I'll certainly say it's not good. If you ever met me you'd realise that I am rather more likely to be a victim of racism than a perpetrator of it (let's say I am not of UK-origin, one of the many things that internet forums conveniently - or inconveniently - hide), and yet I seem to have been accused of racism against people who, to date, are of unknown ethnic origin (we still haven't established whether this purveyor of very dodgy motors is anything other than white, although given the fuss that has blown up I am guessing that they are not.)

As I said before, if you want to find offence then you will. Look harder, as the truth may yet be found. And please try and avoid causing offence when you claim it yourself. wink
Oli,

If you read back there are a few other people who've picked you up on this thread, in addition your comments were reported which is how the thread came to my attention. I merely commented on your back-pedal.

As we have established, your "PC applecart" referred to minorities. I think we can safely assume KTC isn't run by lesbians so how else do you expect your comments to be taken?

Cheers
Bill

Next time anyone is down that way, take a quick wander around the back, have a quick look, then look back on their site in about 2 months time, I'm sure you will see something that didn't look like that before hand.
Eh?confused
Something that was a tad crumpled, that is held in the back area.

Haircuts take minutes with plug in units. Believe he was referring to the stash of smashed cars that arrive that way from japan etc and are repaired before sale.

Do they declare the car's accident history when there will be nothing shown on the fresh V5. I do not know...

Bill,

If you look back, you'll also find that there are a fair few people who didn't take the comments in the manner in which you speak of, and (correctly) didn't see them as being a dig at minorities.

I don't seem to recall ever "establishing that they referred to minorities". (I'd be very interested in seeing where you think this happened.) They were not intended to (as has been stated repeatedly) and they didn't. There was no back-pedal, as it was not necessary.

When I wrote my last message, somewhat mellowed by a good meal and a bottle of red, I was happy to see your accusatory tone as arising from no more than a misunderstanding over a phrase of mine. For the ambiguity of which, I hasten to add, I have apologised.

On continuing to read comments such as yours above I find my mood somewhat changed. It appears very much as if you are trying to continue a witch hunt, despite there being no witch to hunt. I had rather hoped for an apology (tacit or otherwise) from you on this thread when I logged onto PH this morning, although you seem rather more intent on piling offence on offence. I assume (from your message) that you are a mod - non?

No witch hunt, I was actually trying to placate you. I was genuinely trying to get you to see how your comments could be construed the way they were.

ETA: Yes, I'm a mod.

Had a wander round and would not entertain the idea of buying from here, just to put the original post back into perspective.

I would say, a coincidence that is not ...

ETA - Mechsympathy - Without wanting to speak out of turn, you have accused Oli of a veiled racist remark, which he denies. Whether you (or other people) choose to believe his reasons is a matter of opinion, to continue pushing the issue is only making a minor issue into a major one IMO.

Surely leaving the thread to get back to it's original point would be better at this point?

Yes, it's an interesting comment. I've heard nothing but bad things about these over the last five years or so. I've just done a quick Google search on them and ended up on Scoobynet. 'KTC' as they call them are not popular on there at all!!

I've got no idea how to link it though...getmecoat

I fully understand how my comments were taken in a manner other than which they were intended, hence the apology.

I don't fully understand how the further accusations in your message are meant to be placatory, although will take your word on face value that it was intended to be so.

Very wise words, thank you Robbie. Let's let the whole thing drop - I'm significantly beyond being sick of it.

I know nothing about KTC (Although am partial to KFC!).

My only comment [and i'm not anti 'naming & shaming'] is regarding accusations, which I won't quote, about 'haircuts' etc.

Unless these have been proven anywhere it is unfair and potentially libelous and I am surprised the mods haven't been concerned about those.

I've no experience of KTC myself but have read plenty of bad reports about them on the Skyline and Integra message boards. A quick Google will bring up most of them.

Cheers guys, i'm glad it was taken in the way i intended it smile

BOT - This is just one (allegedly) very dodgy company we know of, i dread to think how many more there are out there that haven't received the same sort of bad press yet?
I remember reading another thread on here recently of a place selling mainly cat c/d cars with others in various states of disrepair littered around the site.

I feel for the people that go to these big places with lots of cars and a flashy website and get their pants royally pulled down.
