I remember having to put the removable hard top on as in your pic, it was a right pain in the arse!

The metal legs poking out the bottom of it scare me.

The metal eyelets for the hard-top that sit in the locking mechanism.

They poke out (or down, by about 2-3"), if you weren't careful it'd leave a fookin huge scratch in an extremely rare car. Why they couldn't coat them in plastic I don't know.

It's not a terribly unique choice, but I just cannot stop looking for an E39 M5.

This is partly influenced by a recent change of job which means it will be purely for pleasure instead of commuting/daily duties but I fear it will be ruinous as I will have the perfect excuse to explore my back yard which is the West Midlands/Welsh border with alarming regularity.

Plus, it's been about two years since I last had a V8....

Oh you meant the roof, I thought you were on about the car. My mistake.

I have a feeling it may be somewhat outside the means of my lowly student budget (the shame!) but thanks all the same. thumbup

It's not the best picture to discern the differences actually, but it is indeed the SL73.

better resolution

I cant stress how much i want to drive a Caterham, even a 1.6 Roadsport would be a huge laugh.
Trust me, 1.6-litres is more than enough to make things interesting in a Caterham. Even at 140-odd bhp they're seriously rapid (and can be seriously sideways).

To put things into perspective, a 1.6-litre Roadsport A has almost exactly the same power-to-weight ratio as a 620 bhp Bentley Continental Supersports. And the Bentley still wouldn't see which way the Caterham went on a twisty B-road.

On a rather different note, I have to say I'm pondering one of these at the moment:

It seems about £3k is the going rate for a mk1. Not bad for a Mk5 Golf GTi with added 'scaring the bejesus out of speeding motorists' effect.

I may well do, in fairness. Just assumed given the Mk4 Golf GTi was universally panned and the vRS seems pretty well regarded that it would be the Mk5.

Could be worse. Ive just been looking around a citroen DS5 and they are awesome.

I must be getting old but I really want one. Fantastic interior.

After my trip to Geneva car show, I've come back very impressed with Citroen's lineup. All other manufacturers are making their cars look more and more agressive, so its refreshing to see someone is styling their cars in a completely different manner. And it works well too IMHO.
