Insurance for a Fiesta Zetec S as a first car? Very, very expensive if you are a guy, if you are a girl it will probably be quite reasonable.
Mine was quoted at 1600 to insure when I got it (it was my first car), which didn't seem too bad at the time. I ended up bartering the price down. Absolutely cracking cars, no doubt, but getting on a bit now and prone to rotten sills and arches like every other Fiesta of that generation. Given the way insurance prices have skyrocketed for new drivers now, I imagine they could be pretty hefty to insure now as they were a bit of a boy racer favourite.Still looking at them...
SO MUCH WANT - LOOKS IMMACULATE!!
EDIT: Insurance is OK too!

i do worry that so many people lust after white goods
surely obsession is saved for the extreme/unique/beautiful ?
I want an RS4, I obsess over a Zonda.
I agree with NotDave.surely obsession is saved for the extreme/unique/beautiful ?

It depends on a certain person.
Some people may worry about people that spend loads of money buying a Golf R/Polo GTI when they could have the (insert car name) or the same car/platform from a cheaper brand.
I am not saying you ate wrong buying them, but some variety is good. :
but surely obsession is about the unobtainable not what your budget is or how much your prepared to strap yourself up with debt, it is in my mind should be the car you would buy first with a 100 mill euro win, and for me that would be a Zonda, followed by a SWB quattro, then a 6R4, then a V8 morgan

I'd also be interested in this, Im 19 in may, Held my license for about 15 months and it'll cost me about 5200 to insure one of them
5200, look at the admiral multi car policy, only way forward if you want something with decent performance.JayTee94 said:
That sucks..
I am still getting Provisional quotes as I am only 17 and yet to pass the test. I can get insured for 88p/m.
Once passed I was told that it should be around 2,000. Which may seem a lot, but it is the same as a dull box (for me).
It's not a lot mate, I was 2400 for my mk5 Zetec S when I passed back in april. At that time the 1.6 was only around 100 more to insure than the 1.25.I am still getting Provisional quotes as I am only 17 and yet to pass the test. I can get insured for 88p/m.

They are brilliant first cars, don't listen to anyone who says they may be too fast. Like anything theyre only too fast if you don't drive to your skill level and the conditions. I believe they are also safer than 1.2's as you have the power to overtake in a split decision without pre-empting it like you have to in the lesser powerful cars.

Mercedes-Benz SSK (specifically the one restored and owned by Ralph Lauren (Count Trossi body):
Factoid: The SSK was the last car designed for Mercedes-Benz by Ferdinand Porsche before he left to found his own company.
That would be the dog's testicular appendages. Great car.Factoid: The SSK was the last car designed for Mercedes-Benz by Ferdinand Porsche before he left to found his own company.
Not obsessing, but I'd consider buying this MR2 if it checked out: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3724524.htm
and if insurance wasn't more than the price of the car!
