The V8 is the Mountune RST unit from Revolve (formerly Rousch UK) I believe.

I just wish I was born now as I might miss out on some of the stunning new cars that will be rolling out of factories in 30-50years time...

Its good that small company like this is looking into the far future, though. Sertainly more forward facing than some of bigger manufacturers.
Does anyone know what engines are used in the V8? Is it the Yamaha R1 * 2? Yes its a 40 valve motor based on the R1 engine made by Russell Savory and only weighs 90Kg, sounds epic. I really cant see the point of an electric Atom, why? The technology is going nowhere until there is a vast improvement in battery technology.

Now that Daimler have taken a 10% stake in Tesla, maybe these cars are the way of the future... I'd agree, the batteries are currently useless, but they're pumping a lot of time and energy into this. Good to see in these times that a company is pushing ahead with the deveolpment of something as insane as a 500bhp V8 in something like the Atom.

I thought I read (here) that the engine used in the Atom V8 would be the same used in the Caterham Levante, which is supercharged... I might be very mixed up though.

Somebody please explain why you would handicap a car that's sole purpose is to deliver thrilling driving experiences and track-fun (and spends 99% of its time in a garage by weighing it down with batteries and a heavy, eco-guilt-ridden conscience?

"25 miles range under racing conditions" The electric Le Mans car on the PH news the other day has got a lot of work to do if they want to be even remotely competitive! A quick battery swap isn't going to balance against that kind of mileage, no matter how quick it is.

I'd love to see a race between the V8 Atom and the V8 Caterham Levante. Both with a 100bhp per tonne!!!! Reckon they'll have the same engine?
