Considering what you can get for the money (obviously not new (incredible value) but year old R8s and 911s), would one really consider it...
An R8 may be flashier and sound nicer, but for what it does and how it does it you'd need your head looking at to consider a non-Turbo/non-GT3 997 at the same money as a GT-R. You would have to be really, really impressed by the little badge on the bonnet.

All this talk about the fact the GT-R will feel dull at legal speeds is daft, what properly quick car doesn't? A bmw 325i feels dull at legal speeds!
This is sadly very true. Most modern cars are just too capable to really enjoy on the public road. frown

No thumbs in shot, no.... It might just be me, but take a look at the photos in my reviews, and i think they show the car off to the best of its ability. I just felt like the framing of the GTR shots was a bit off, not ideal lighting, positioning etc.

Christ, i sound like a right primadonna - i promise i'm not - but after my first review with photos i got some 'constructive' criticism from the PH collective, and it helped me no end...

If you want some photos doing for free next time, i'd be happy to help!! wink

I now fully expect some proper photographers to show some photos from my reviews and rip them to shreds.... thumbup

My brother lost his job a while ago and is unable to take his option up. He is selling his option on eBay.

Its not even reached what you would pay if you placed an order now, for a late 2010 delivery. But this car will be ready for collection in 6 weeks.

I am truly gutted as we have frequently swapped steeds for a blast over the years and I was really looking forward to giving this one a squirt. Having recently got out of my 911, I agree that anyone spending £60k on vanilla Porsche needs their head examining. The GTR has set a new benchmark.

I did a configured a Porsche up to the same spec as the GTR the other day on the Porsche website and the same pricew comparison would get you a CaymanS let alone a near 80k 997 (your vanilla porsche) which is nearly 50% more than I paid for my GTR and much less impressive IMO.

Against the crisp sky of a ruthless July, the rising sun from the east picks out the immortal profile of Nissans’s creation, remixed for the Playstation age. Framed by a soft green canvas of whsipering grass, it’s a scene to raise the rev limiter on anyone whose four stroke heart pumps pure gasoline through their braided veins. A ribbon of road snakes out before me as if some glistening metallic shark has been laid upon the countryside, the early morning light glinting off its crystalline surface like a celestial laser. This is the kind of terrain the really sorts the men from the mice and today it seems to be all mine.

By the end of its five mile length I will know as much about the car as if I had literally eaten its suspension for breakfast. First impressions count, and on this basis the Nissan has just met me in the bar of a mid-priced hotel on the outskirts of Kettering and is already squeezing my balls. Suffice to say, this engine pulls like Brad Pitt in a brothel, not rippling with power but letting the turbo do the torqueing. Chassis tuning feels tight as a countertenor’s undercrackers after a lengthy session in the boil wash, the whole car reacting like an amphetamine crazed leopard to my expert inputs. The ride is nuggety yet tasty like Mr McDonald’s finest. Just go easy on the mustard dip. Do you want to know the best thing about this bastion of technology It works. Yet, like a failed parachutist hitting the beach, the rest of the car also leaves an impression. You can almost telepathically guide it through corners, lifting off to adjust the line, letting the back step out just the breadth of gnat’s vagina. I caught it with a dab of oppo and I was away.

What price driving pleasure to put a smile on your face as if you’ve slept with a coat hangar full of Ecstacy in your mouth? The Nissan GT-R is a bh, and I spanked it.

Looks like someone is going to get a new GTR Black in 6 weeks, at less than list price. Current list is £59+k, this car is £55k + the bid.

I reckon you saw that at 9am, and have been sitting there furiously trying to think of something funny/clever to engage her with and 4 hours later that is the best you could come up with.
Including getting the help of all of your friend
