Someone suggested on another thread that they wished VW still made the mk 1 golf and I remembered that they still do (to a point)

I am aware manufacturers sell off old assembly plant to less developed nations in order to recover some cost before they start a new model - so what can you still buy new?

Pretty sure you can still buy the old VW Camper brand new in Mexico. Also I've got a feeling there's a Middle Eastern car company selling what is basically a Peugeot 405 brand new, will have to look that up

You can buy a mk2 Punto built brand new in Serbia as the Zastava 10.

A rebadged Lada Riva is also available in Africa from what I recall.

Mk4 Astra is still being built in Poland for some S. American and Eastern European markets.

The Pug 504 is still available in S. Africa. Yes, really.

Ah this is it, the Peugeot Pars:

Might be ancient but I'd probably rather have this than most modern Peugeots...

Not yet old, but because of it's popularity will be manufactured for a long time I reccon:

The 206, now called 206+. It's still available over here too, which is less common!
Only the nose and rear lights have been redone

You can still buy a 1958 Morris Oxford in India with an Isuzu engine badged as a Hindustan Ambassador

Even more unbeliebably, you can still buy a facelifted 1948 Land Rover with a Ford Transit van engine

Don't think it is the SD1

Think Austin Princess, Montego and Maestro tooling was sold off to one of the Indian companies.

Just thought of another one although it may be stretching the idea a little.

Last year you could still buy Peugeot 504 estates brand new in Nigeria. Not sure if that is still the case though.

Did they not transfer the tooling for the original Mini somewhere when production ceased?

Somewhere in the Far East IINM?
