Might be handy to know if you're in the market for some well priced car stuff.

Lidl and Aldi are underrated imo. Bought plenty of bike stuff and other bits and bobs that have far outlasted more expensive and supposedly top quality gear.

Don't just generalize since they're seen as cheap shops. They do the job well and they last. Well worth the money.

Depends what it is, I bought a cheap VDE plier set from Lidl as someone I know recommended them but actually I think they were made from chocolate sprayed silver.
Some stuff is good (electronic calipers for £9 for example) but some is sh*te, just be aware.

The axles stands are a good buy people - they are adjsutable, the platforms are the right shape (not the stupid V ones) and importantly the feet are very big and flat so they dont make a mess of your tarmac driveway like most cheap folded steel type ones do.

I think the 8w work lamp looks ok...

Although I am sure they're safe, Torque wrench and axle stands are not something I'd feel too comfortable with getting too cheap!

The chrome trim looks awesome! !

I'm on the look out for a pair of axle stands at the moment, so might have to investigate that, cheers!

...I presume even if they were made out of case-hardened chocolate they'd still cope with 130kg a corner? biggrin

Powder extinguishers arent ideal, but £7 for a 1kg rxample isnt bad: and it isnt a 'cheap' brand either.

For the people slagging Lidl as cheap tat, their digital vernier caliper is actually a Snap On (Blue Point) model with a different brand. I can't vouch for anything else but their bike gear is top quality and trumps much cheaper brands, the same goes for their gardening tools and the like.

The one i got from them is ok, bit stiff to adjust to te full scale of torque but it's good other than that for the money.

Might get the speakers so i can sell my bug with a stereo system.

I bought an electric scraper for £17 from there last week and finished scraping the walls in my lounge in a day! Had taken 2-3 weeks to do the first half.

They sell some good stuff very cheaply.

You definitely won't like the £1.71 axle stands on the Wickes site, then! smile

More like Snap-on are putting their label on the same chinese generic calipers.
