you can make them for much cheaper though.

all you have to do is get a tyre that has white lettering, then break out the angle grinder.

I think a lot of whitewalls you see are actually a whitewall trim over normal tyres.
ETA That Mr whitewalls stuff looks interesting. Especially redwalls...

Correct. You can see it in this pic of a very sweet P1800. I want this car so bad even though the tyre trim is hanging off:



I think whitewalls look good on all sorts of cars, even 80's box-mobiles.

These tyres have not been produced over 30 years but my car still wears them and no cracking....yet. Good job I don't drive it then.
