Sure it didn't leave the factory like that?

It was a real shame actually. The owner was pretty sanguine about it, but the car had been rammed from behind by an SUV and they'd decided to bring it along on a flat bed anyway. It was a little too far gone to be saved.

Really is a shame. The DS is the perfect antidote to SUVs. Kind of ironic that one should take it out. Looks pretty scary. 1950s car rear ended by a truck

I think this has to be the stest car I've ever seen...

It looks like it's been built in someone's shed out of old washing machines and bumper cars!

There's more information on this awfulness here.

Next to the Alfa referred to as the "needlessly complicated Italian" - don't you love 'em? As an ex Alfa 75 owner...

Surely that is a Fiat Strada Convertible? Did Fiat do convertible Stradas or droptop Strada Abarths?

Yep I love them and yes we should be capable of mustering our own UK Concours D'Lemons

Top speed of 55kph. I can't imagine anything being scarier than travelling at 34mph in that.

Is this done by the same lot who run the 24 hours of LeMons?

Endurance racing for under $500.

The very same. I heard a great story from this event - apparently one team turned up in an old BMW 7 series which was adjudged to be worth more than the regulation $500.

Solution: the organisers had a grapple on stand by. They picked up the 7 by the roof and dropped it on the ground from around 6 feet up until it was adjudged to be worth less than $500. Apparently that's twice in the case of this particular car...

We really need a PH league.

4 hour races, no more than three drivers, split into regional competitions (use cheaper circuits).

Winners form each region (and X fastest runners up) go into a grand final at Silverstone or somewhere equally prestigious for a 24h finale.

My boss in the States won the 2009 Buttonwillow Histrionics round of this in a Mustang powered 1984 Volvo 244. drivingcool
