Yes, I think it was done by TPK in Margate - at least they appeared to be doing it when I was there the other week smile

Fair play.

I reckon a Mini Cooper S is about the one car that might actually look cool chrome wrapped...

I was looking into vinyl wrap for a friend and turns out you can get almost anything.

Matt and chrome vinyl wraps seem to be popular just now.

Matt black Hamann 599 GTB Fiorano

A matt green LP640R and a chrome LP640R

Two matt black LP640(I believe one might be painted though)

Racoon seem to be one of the best vinyl wrapping companies and can you use 3M and Avery wraps. But they are quite costly.

ETA:

Pros:
  • It usually comes with a 3 year guarantee.
  • It protects the car from chips.
  • It can give you vehicle a whole new look.
  • It can be done relatively quickly. It can be done in a day.
  • You can get almost any design in matt, chrome or gloss.
Cons:
  • It is expensive, especially if you want the company to come to your house to do it.
  • Previous chip protection must be removed and replaced after the wrap is removed.
Hope this helps the OP.

Give me an email if you want to chat further.

You can, I think get eletroluminesant stickers nowadays(I think they are called Electroluminesant). Like you get on the Le Mans racers for use at night.

Cant see much applciation for on the road really apart from advertising your company.

My 3 year old left me a voicemail on my phone last week saying that she had just seen an Aston Martin that looked like it had been dipped in molten silver (suspect my wife may have helped her out with the wording!). Even she thought it looked very silly!

cheers for all the info guys....even tho majority of it was pointing out that i would look like a bellend! : )

It is definately worth thinking about for more expensive cars, Matte black looks pretty kool...........not sure how these companies can get away with charging so much tho as i know the vinyl material doesn't cost much. how hard do you think it would be to apply, and what tools would you need? im guessin a roller and a hot air gun?

They are for 30 days I think.

These boys only come over for the summer, fly the cars over and fly them back.

Hot air gun yes, roller no. You wouldn't be able to do it yourself. It's really not that easy.

A range rover would look good in camo, maybe...

Not keen on the chrome look, says look at me too much. Matt black is overdone nowadays it does however look fantastic on one car though, Brabus Bullit.

A 700bhp C class can only be in matt black.

Andy
