And still one of the most effeminate looking cars on the road just behind the pink metalic Nissan Micra Cabrio.
So, how was your first day back at school then?? Prick.

There was I just about sold myself on changing mine for a 993 C2/4S or Turbo and I read this. An excellent report with insight that captures just what the 930 is all about and why I bought it in the first place. The 930 normally gains great respect and comment from other Porsche enthusiasts and Joe public alike but you cant please everyone.

Cracking write up though - awesome car too yes
Agreed, and given it's firmly rooted with classic status, you couldn't possibly look less like a cock driving one.

Hi everyone, just joined the site, loved the article and totally agree with the sentiment.
Would love to buy one but since I barely squeezed into a 928, wouldnt fancy my chances with a 911!!!
It's a pity we have to be subjected to numbskull comments from the Warwick Hunts of this world....

I wouldn't call it an effemenite looking car.
It's certainly not Brutish like a Dodge Challenger or Aston Marting Vantage (original), but it has brawny masculine elements with exquisite feminine detailing.

The one to have is an LE with the 5 speed box and the 330 Bhp engine upgrade.
I lusted after one during my teens- but ultimately went for a 993 Turbo instead.

I think you'll find that most of us are incapable of growing a pony tail, but are considerably richer than you wink

slight mods - that's a Ruf front spoiler and Veloce GT1 wheels - big reds as well
Achingly pleasant to behold.

I remember what must have been the mid 70s-ish, on a weekend to London with mes parents (we'd gone with Uncle Steptoe to witness culture, electricity, etc) and stopping off at what must have been an early OPC (iirc; AFN or some such?) and pater directing me towards a classic Martini liveried car, sporting a interior shod with what I recall was red and blue leather.

I gingerly sat within and distinctly recall the firmness of the seat; the sales chap wore pin stripe and ushered us to the door which on reflection, was absolutely in order.

Ah, happy days.

I am not going to go on the offensive about what you drive.. I am just interested to know.

as mentioned below somewhere - it's a car that doesn't attract negative attention.
It's got so much more class and style than a modern 911 - it's got soul and it's still a "drivers car"

The modern GT3 is an awesome bit of kit as I told the sales guy as we did the local country roads easily at 3 figures - it was so easy to drive at that speed. Well sir would you like order one - no thanks, it's a bit of a girls car wink
It was too easy to drive that fast - i love mine - everytime i drive it, i'm reminded of how to drive - if not it will try and kill me - and i love that !!

He appears to have joined the forum simply to slate Porsches on every thread.. Sad individual!

My friend used to have a beautiful white 930 turbo, 4 speed gearbox. It had been 'enhanced' to give nearly 400BHP..my god driving back from purchasing it scared the life out of me! IIRC 3rd gear took you to an indicated 130, awesome machine.
