a strange occurrence to get hold of one , i ordered last week ! Due to the inefficiencies of my local dealer , I supplied my letter of intent last year but they never asked for a deposit due to a computer glitch . so after a conversation with their sales manager he said that they had one dealer car that porsche had allocated but they wouldn't know spec etc until it arrived. Called in last Thursday , car due and as I was leaving the dealership the transporter pulled in , so they got it off , i saw it in the flesh , no test drive and thought sod it its cool , so deal done !!!!!! Most people who ordered 12 months ago wont see their cars for a while ... right place , right time !

I have recently arrived in Frankfurt after a trip from London in a Panamera S wih Riggers and Stuart and it was absolutely fantastic.

We touched 150mph in quiet comfort, listened to the fantastic BOSE audio and arrived refreshed. It attracted attention everywhere, and all of the comments were positive, in fact we were the star attraction in the EuroTunnel with many drivers coming to take a look.

It is devastatingly effective, and is capable of devouring countries with ease....I won't say any more as we are about to write a feature for the homepage, but we absolutely love it.

Sounds great.

Quick qn - did the car fit readily in the normal Chunnel carriages, or did you have to go in the high vehicle / coach carriages?

(Have a Panamera arriving in a week or so, and will be taking abroad soon!)

Cheers

We managed to fit into the 'normal' section, but it was very (very) tight, especially in terms of its width eek

It's all been done before, for instance by Aston Martin. A style of car generally popular among those with more money than sense.

Ta-daa!!

Have to say after driving a panamera last week I'm definitley tempted and have to say the car looks amazing in the metal with genuine supercar pace too... the turbo laps the N-Ring quicker than any car in it's class and only a second slower than a F430 Ferrari...

I love the Lagonda too, but the 'more money than sense' doesn't apply to the PanAm, drive one and tell me i'm wrong.

The AML was striking but pretty far from fugly; 'more money than sense?' How so? Shirley, the sports car fan who for one reason or another who has to bid sayonara to his woolfing wedges in sacrifice to domestic servitude yet still holds a candle for performance is hardly an idiot for so choosing?

I thought I'd leave it till I saw it in the flesh before commenting. A black turbo drove through my village yesterday and I actually think it's uglier in the flesh, if that's possible. Not only that, but it's fecking huge.

I think I saw your car being prepped for you, is it the same on in the pics? Anyway you're a lucky chap and by the sounds of it you're gonna make the most of it!

I just wanted to post another picture I took of a Panamera at Silverstone. Who's telling me that the Turbo does not look gorgeous? http://athorby.zenfolio.com/p812929690/h154a47d5#h...

Does anyone else think the front seats bear a striking resemblance to BMW E36 M3 'Vaders'?

Saw my first Panamera in Panama (kind of appropriate that). From the back it looks like a bigger 911 so that was OK, but the I saw it from the side. Oh dear. Then I checked the list price roflrofl

Idd, "more money than sense"? Isn't that the case with any PH buying an expensive car? Surely they can get by with a cheaper one?

Of course, there are faster, more comfortable, more reliable, cheaper to run, ... cars than the lagonda.

But for four-door exclusivity & style, I think it's hard to beat.

Holy Thread Resurection Batman ....

Just saw my first Panamera on the road here in Singapore this morning,

It's not a prety thing is it!!! Looks like a Cayenne that has been sat on!!

Given that it has to be at least a quarter of a million quids worth of car out here, its a brave person that has gone and bought this one i recon!!!

Having said that, by January they will probably be a common sight here! (along with Bentleys, Massers, Lambo's and other porkers .... ) definitely a lot of people with more money than me out here!

Question for you: do you laugh at the list price of new Ferrari V12s?

I saw one of these up close in Waitrose car park today. I have only one comment on the styling:

rofl

It really does make the Cayenne look beautiful.
