I quite like it. Especially that interior, one of the best i've seen in a while. However, I can imagine those mingin chrome wheels won't be on the UK spec... oh well! biggrin

Article should have read "Lexus reveals renderings of what they think their 1 series rival may look like".

They haven't shown the actual car, have they?

I'm no fan of small hatches, but I actually really like that.

Of course if it ends up looking anything like that I will eat my hat, followed by selling my soul to buy one.

You should know by now that they'll never build the interior like the concept in the final production car. All just show.

You know, I just looked at the thumbnails and never actually noticed that it had wing mirrors. They are tiny!!!

I doubt the production model will look anything like that though. Accountants and the safety brigade will see to that.

I am seeing New Astra + New Leon.

Looks ok, but not what I would expect from a Lexus TBH.

Hmmm, Interesting,

Has shades of Nissan Almera, 1 series Bmw and new Suburau about it.

If its Rear wheel drive though it will make it immediately more appealing that most in this sector, go on Lexus you know you want to!

What's going on with the wing mirrors? Could they not be arsed to design any?

Its funny how the Humble Nissan Almera has been the influence for both the BMW 1 series and the Lexus and all 3 are crap!

No info on Lexus' website, but I'd take a punt on the wing mirrors being sized to a rear view camera and side repeater. They have history of using rear-view cameras in place of mirrors on their concepts (e.g. the LF-C concept at Atlanta) and this would explain their small size.

The renderings were a few weeks ago, this is the actual show car...not production car, show car, hence the 20"s, the tiny camera/mirrors....do some people have difficulty understanding how cars of this ilk are released?
BMW are famed for the M concept cars....Audi similarly...show stopping concepts that tease with slinky one off interiors and massive dubs.... but amamzingly when it comes to production are remarkably true to the show car externally...

I'll eat my hat if it doesn't look like that come 2010....the only caveat being, you'll have to go elsewhere for the 20"s, you'll get standard mirrors and all of the fancy materials used inside will become industry standard shiny/soft touch plastics... Its not too difficult to grasp is it?

Come on Lexus, enough pretty pictures. We need to know:

1) Is it going to be rear wheel drive?

2) What's the biggest normal petrol engine going to be?

3) Will there eventually be a hot one like the IS-F?

The chav body work Front and Back are a little OTT, and did a mention it looks like a Chav up concept car?
