RE: Lexus Reveals BMW 1 Series Rival

Thanks for showing me how to show pictures. I like the way everyone assumed I meant they looked the same, even though I didn't write anything!
What I was going to say in my next message, once I'd worked out how to show the picture was:
"Do you think they could add rear doors like that to a Scirocco? Why is the RX8 the only four-door coupe? It's so popular, even with appalling mpg, that there's clearly a market for it."

Come on Lexus, enough pretty pictures. We need to know:
1) Is it going to be rear wheel drive?
2) What's the biggest normal petrol engine going to be?
3) Will there eventually be a hot one like the IS-F?
If only they had some sort of unveiling event planned in the near future.1) Is it going to be rear wheel drive?

The chav body work Front and Back are a little OTT, and did a mention it looks like a Chav up concept car?
Or, since wild bodywork and alloys have been on concept cars for a while, maybe chavs just want their car to look more like the original concept than the bean-counter limited production model. It's their car so if they want to go mad with an accessories catalogue, that's their prerogative. Of course, I might prefer they spent it on improving their driving, but mine's pretty ropey at times too.Concepts are supposed to be jewels glittering in the lime-light, not velour upholstered taxis in fleet friendly flat red.

How do I make these show up?

Lexus have made a fine job of hiding the rear doors so it looks like a coupé, other than that they look quite different in detailing.
Yes, and I am getting quite fed up of every new car post going 'It looks like a...'. For goodness sake, it's a car - it has four wheels, doors, a passenger compartment that has to hold humans, an engine bay, lights in prescribed locations and areas, ditto impact protection. There are only a few millimetres of skin to differentiate otherwise very similar product requirements. Celebrate those mm - the rear light clusters on the Lexus are a delight; the miniature running board; the scalloped roof; and the double curve of the C-pillar and wheel-arch bulge contrasting with the harsh cut-off on the arch itself. All of which have a chance of getting into production, unlike the ped-head unfriendly cutting boards on the bumpers.

That interior is utterly revolting. I was actually quite excited when I first read the headline, but I'm utterly disappointed with the styling of the car.
It looks like something from "The Fast and the Furious". Just stick some "tribal" stickers on the side and you're all set. Horrible.

drop any car onto the deck and put 20"s on it and it'd look ready for the fast ad the furious...its a show car not production ready... a SHOW car...with jewellery to catch the SHOW lights and the SHOW photographers eye...so that makes headlines in the SHOW sections of motoring magazines...and generate interest for the production version YET TO BE SEEN.... jeez...It looks like something from "The Fast and the Furious". Looking at the interior picture, it’s had to be sure with the rear armrest in the way. But I can’t see a transmission tunnel. So, probably FWD or at most, hub motors for the hybrid on the rear. Then add the battery location on such a small car; even less likely to be RWD or 4WD.
Again, looking at the pictures, some thought has gone into rear legroom and front shoulder room.
They can keep the hybrid version. I’d rather have less weight and more luggage room.
Then achieve strong performance with a refined and quiet diesel for a good economy versus performance solution. About 250bhp should do it.
It will probably be on the list to test drive come replacement time.
