You can have as many modern cars as you like, so your classic has to sum up everything you consider a classic to be. It can be as unlikely, ungainly or unreliable as you like.

For me it would have to be a 1969 TVR Tuscan 3 litre.

Which is a bit odd as I've never had a TVR. Tinkering with it, going for a blast and then watching it sitting in the drive cooling down.

I'd stick with a 944, which one would be a puzzle but it does everything I want a classic to do.

If I'm thinking of cars I might actually ever be able to own an XK150S DHC would have to be high up the list.

Unlimited budget I'd be looking at 250 GTO's, C or D types.
