I am sorry that my first post on your community is under these circumstances, but my lotus 41C

Rare lotus 41C in gold leaf colours stolen yesterday in northamptonshire UK. There is no paperwork/ history with this car as this is all still in my posession. A substantial reward is offered for information leading to it's safe return. Very sorry to hear that, I'll keep an eye out for it. It's a lovely looking car.

How did it happen by the way? Someone broke into your garage?

That's awful... even more sickening to think that such a beautiful car might end up being broken in order to dispose of a handful of valuable but not easily identifiable components.

Try posting a message on LotusElan.net - there are guys on there who keep a very close eye on Lotus components for sale and I suspect that the engine components might be the obvious things to try to offload first.

Hope you manage to recover it before they get that far, though!

Keep a very close eye on ebay and car/classic for the bits they didn't want.

It may take some time, but pikey minded people are unlikely to chuck valuable parts over a hedge.

I'd also see about emailing all the motor clubs, if you hadn't thought of it.

Best of luck.

Absolutely gutted for you. I've always dreamt of restoring something like that and can imagine your attachment to something so special. Hope it gets back to you and obviously I'll let you know if I see/hear anything.

I hate to say it but wouldn't it be more likely that it was stolen to order?

Rare (and I have to say beautiful) car but I doubt it was just taken by chance.

Fingers crossed that you get it back safe and sound.

Sadly this man speaks the truth. Probably in a private collection now, and probably not in this country anymore. Sorry to be negative but such stuff isn't stolen by opportunists to sell on in the freeads.
