So I went to s2000 4 u a couple of days ago as I have just sold my 911. After much thought I decided that I wanted either a Honda s2000 or a Nissan 350z. This place is fairly local to me so my partner and I took a drive over there to have a look at their stock, maybe test drive a couple so we could make our minds up as to which car we preferred. Providing they had a car we liked we planned to pay in cash there and then and take the car away. So we arrive at s2000 4 u and are both pleased to see about 6 Hondas and 2 350z's.(Despite them having about twice this number on their website) We have a look inside both types of car and decide that we would like to take the Honda out for a spin. I have heard about the engines in these cars and wanted to see if I liked it as much as I had been told I would. I approached the salesman (who was stuffing his face with food) and asked him if I could take one out (I didn't care if he or I drove it). His reply... "We dont do test drives unless you know which car you want" I asked him how could I possibly know what car I wanted until I had test driven both. He just looked at me with a smug grin across his face. Needless to say the other half left post haste! I did first however tell the salesman that he had, "lost a deal". He just stared at me. Anyway, no problem, I bought a Nissan yesterday for 11k privately and am very pleased with it. I just wondered why would a car sales garage behave in thios manner? Surely it is not condusive to actually selling cars?!?
Now I understand the rules surrounding the naming and shaming of companies but I am only telling people what happened. Has anyone else encountered this attitude at this garage or indeed anywhere else?

Don't you owe someone some dodo juice?

And also...stuffing his face? Sales people have to eat..they don't go the whole today without eating.

Not had such a thing happen to me.

However I did see a post where someone pretended to be a girl to get a free HPI done and then did not even thank the person who did it.

Maybe the salesman saw what a tt you are.

Yes I do... Are you his debt collector?

I understand that they have to eat, but whilst talking to a customer??? Newsreaders have to eat, but they don't do it at the same time as presenting the news for god's sake. There is a time and a place.

Lets argue about grammer. It is of course so much more fun than talking about cars.

I dont know, lot of dealerships are like it as well.
Once heard about the local Fiat dealer (is no more) a bloke I know phoned the salesmen up asking what the standard price for a Dobie van is. Salesmen had ago at him saying your going to buy one and basically F'off.
Week later salesmen phones him up trying to get a sale.....

I can only assume its a power struggle, them trying to take control and make your own mind up for you.

No wonder ph forums have a bad reputation.all he did was to mention his bad experience with the salesman, and all you have done his dig at him,bet you wouldnt be so brave face to face.or are you jealous that he had some cash to spend.
