Seriously shut up, someone deserves to have their car crushed because other people don't like them?

Christ I don't like lots of cars but you have to be a grade A knobend to say that they deserve to have it crushed...

I don't beleive it to be true anyway...or at least not how it is portrayed in the story.

The last time I saw one of these was a yellow one rotting in someones drive on the Isle of Wight in the Summer.

All I can say they should put the driver inside when they squash it for driving a WOLEX on wheels!

Why are companies allowed to sell these body kits? Surely they should be classed as counterfiet or some sort of copyright/design infringement?

I mean, they're not cheap are they, those Ferrari replicas based on MR2s?

For that sort of money, you can actually buy a decent 996 Porsche 911 / M3 / M5 / Lotus / Jaguar / R34 Skyline, the list goes on

So why put up with a wanabe fake instead? You can tell by glancing at it that it's not the real deal, it just looks out of proportion.

I've never understood why people fork out so much for replicas. For AC Cobras (i.e. DAC cobra) or some of the old school classic cars, one can understand why, as they are pretty rare and expensive to find originals, but a 355 Ferrari, pointless.

I know my opinion might upset some readers, but that's just how I fell about it !
Really? last i looked GTR's were fetching huge money!
Sorry, I meant R33 Skyline!

Just my opinion mate - i stated that when i replied to the topic. I don't like many cars either, and i don;t say I want them to be crushed.

This one deserves it

Although could the police loose this case if it went to court. Reason being the car may still be listed as an MR2 on its V5, so would technically be a MR2 with a bodykit. Plus I would have thought it would have had to be made by a car manufacturer for it to be a fake.
Either way, funny story though.

Still a shame for the bloke though, god knows how much money he wasted on it.

Website quotes about £20k to have a rolling version like the one above (with dash\leather etc)....but apart from the bodywork it's still all based on a second hand car.

That's a lot of money for a fake second hand car - there's such much else available for that kind of money.

Except that the running costs for a 911/M3/M5/Lotus/etc will be considerably higher than that of an MR2. They may cost the same to buy, but you're still going to be hit by the costs of running a 30/60/however many k car.
Ok, so buy something a little cheaper, and leave yourself with spare for the running costs.

Porkas and Lotus may be realtively high, but M cars are not too bad (providing u buy a well sorted example in the first place).

Imagine how the guy feels when people are checking his car out, and they ask to take a look at the engine!

saw one of these replicas outside a bar in Leeds. It just didnt look right - it sat a little too high.
The owner came out of the bar and unlocked it, but noticing we were looking at it and discussing its height, just stood next to it. Doing nothing.
as we moved on down the street he started it...and it definatley wasnt a Ferrari!!

I'd say more people would probably want your M5 crushed on the grounds that you claim to have driven at 140mph on a public road.

I personally don't see the point in crushing someones P&J for a whole bunch of reasons. First off it's not benifiting anyone. Atleast a fine would go to building schools or Silvio's court defence fund.

Secondly it's always unfair. Crushing a 911 is a much bigger punishment than say crushing a Nissan Bluebird.

It's a slippery slope. How soon before you get your car cube for speeding?

Personally, hats off to the bloke who had the balls to drive a fake fezza around in their own backyard. He was probably pissing himself laughing every time the local boys ran after the car their their old boys in their hands.
