DSR10 list so far:
1. Dinks - the obvious passenger
2. David - Murci, XTR2 or Ultima with 700bhp V8 power.
3. Arjan & Anca - red Tusc vert
4. Mr & Ms Cloggy - red Chim
5. Joop - black BMW 3 coupe
6. Andy - yellow Viper
7. Johnny Tipler - aqua green Pork 964
8. Steve & Sally - red C5 Vette
9. Greg & Hillary - silver 350 Merc vert
10. Elco (& Sophie I presume) - Skyline
11. Aram - car (Corolla would be awesome mate)
12. Karim - Mitsu 3000GT

I'd be happy if you jump in to make a full 25-car line up. PM me for full details.

In brief: two day - full weekend! - 550 kms runaround from Hook driving along the Dutch coastal-line via Afsluitdijk through the northern outback of Holland via Autobahn - a longer stretch than last year - resting sunday evening with diner in a brewery.

Apart from the famous Dzjerman highspeed trail we won't see any bit of highway: it's a rural roads / lanes workout!

It's the 3rd DSR and it won't be the last. Next year it will be a DinkSpringRun as Dutch won't apply.

For the veterans: no more reading maps chaps. It's a full TomTom upload this time.

Cheers, A.

How long does the boat take from here to Hoek van Holland ? I normally take the Dover - Duinkerken one which takes about 1:40 hour but i believe this seatrip is longer isn't it ?

And once we go back on the sunday, is there anything (meal/drinks or whatever) when we reach the UK or does everyone just goes home then ?
Was just thinking i might stay a couple days longer and go and see my family. I'll come along to hoek van Holland but instead of coming along on the boat i'll wave everyone off (with camera in hand) and drive back down to Limburg.

Have to sort my shifts out first though so not sure about that yet.

I'd be interested in that but that ferry to the hook is very expensive isn't it ie £200 expensive?

PM if you're really serious about this one.

Option is the Chunnel and then drive about 150 mins to Hook: good morning traffic is pretty quiet.

Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd of May (driving from 9 to 17 hrs): I do the organising of brekkies, lunch, diners and search for suiteable hotels.

Expect a brekkie / lunch to be EU 15, diner about EU 40, hotel about EU 80.

I've searched cheap hotels for fri / sat at Hook: starting from EU 60 for a double room.

Gas is about EU 1,45 for Super Unleaded, drinks at night are :cough: all depending on consumption and happy times I guess.

Ask DSR-veterans about costs because I dunno about ferry fares and all that. It's pretty much low budget and high fun.

The more the merrier but I like to have 25 cars max, so we can travel in 3 squadrons of about 6 cars. You don't want to loose a Viper or Murci in heavy traffic wink

Cheers all!

I've take 3 days leave and am now off from the 27th of april till the 9th of april so got chance to see my mates and family as well for a bit as i usually only got back once or twice anyway. So i might go down earlier or stay a bit longer.

The Shuttle (Euro Tunnel) is about £45 each way on a special five day saver ticket

So coming from London or more South / West it's cheaper to drive and take the Chunnel than take the ferry straight to Hook innit Greg?

Looks that way. Travelling on the ferry and having a cabin worked out at £260, going on the shuttle and estimating petrol cost(Calais to the Hoek and back) the total came to £180

Dude this I know I lived in Holland for 2 years and came home most weekends. What I meant was this looks like a small group gathering of cars that start the joy ride with the overnight jolly cruise to the hook of holland. For sure any number of cars could join by going the cheaper route of dunkirk and up but is that the intention of the OP's adventure?
