So it's got to the stage now where people are so pedantic they'll argue the merits of a car based on the key? Maybe I'm missing something?
These pedantophiles are partly to blame for Astons ECU key- a pretty but completely over-designed piece of bar jewellery. Would it not have made sense to adopt a smartkey keyless remote as seen in the latest jags? The crystal starter button seems to lend itself perfectly to a keyless system. Does the ecu do anything else apart from start the car and open doors? It would be far handier if it could double up as an mp3 device or maybe an offline sat-nav log?
The possibilities are endless...

I drove the 4.3 when it came out and did not like its lack of poke at all,but I also am aware first 2 years of all astons are st since they use their customers as their QC department.I am intrigued by the 4.7 version though. The car is stunningly ,achingly, beautiful and I cannot actually believe that people moan about the interior,it is lovely.
I would seriously consider one or the v12 as my next car ,it i s one of those cars that makes you feel special every time you sit in it,something no porsche made does (and I should know, I have had loads of them).

My filler cap release ceased working after 1500 miles and I forgot to mention the very tacky cladding of the seat belt receptacles in leather, they would have been leaving them as Ford (?) parts in the first place. I would still give the V12 a nod though and maybe (just maybe) try a 4.7.
"I cannot actually believe that people moan about the interior,it is lovely."
Agreed.
How is covering the seat belt receptacles in leather, rather than leaving them in the usual hard plastic like everyone else does, "tacky"? They pay enough attention to detail as to wrap them in leather to match the interior, and it's tacky" Seems to me it's an elegant way to make a not especially attractive part actually look nice.
And how is it that Aston is faulted for using "Ford" seat belt receptacles? Does Rolls-Royce use unique-to-Rolls-Royce seat belt receptacles? Does Bentley? Ferrari? I doubt it.

Because it looks like they are trying too hard. The leather "wrap" is ill-fitting leaving the holders flapping about inside them. They would have been better off leaving them alone. Still, if it floates your boat best of luck.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
