I've seen both these monsters around Kettering and Northampton, first time I saw the dayglo orange one I nearly crashed looking into my rear view mirror not believing what I was seeing. I don't think i'd mind if the owner torched it just to pur it out of it's misery.

What you're not seeing (and you do have to look closely) is that the left bush is slightly obscured by the plate supporting the spring.
