For me it would have to be the Sagaris as the GTR just doesn't do it for me. I know it's a hugely capable car and would leave the Saggy for dead but it's just too souless.
You've owned a T350 though, would a Sag be a totally different ride? I can't comment as a Saggy is one of the few TVRs I've never driven - it is an identical place to sit in though.
Isn't this a case of scalpel vs Swiss Army Knife. The scalpel is far more effective but the knife is more fun.

Coming from a Gallardo you'd surely be disappointed opening the garage to see a grey GTR there, whereas with a bright purple Sagaris you wouldn't feel that way.

And the Sag makes a better engine noise!

I'd go with the GTR - Surely the Sagaris will be just like a T350?

I like to try different kinds of cars, so buying another TVR seems a bit pointless to me. The GTR will be different.

Obviously, any sane person would get a test drive in both first though - You may hate the GTR.

Unfortunately not. I've been in one and the interior felt bland, though obviously again I'm comparing to a TVR interior.
I'm in no way slating the GTR as they are awesome cars but for me it just doesn't do it.

I've always loved the sagaris for its crazy styling, great engine, good handling and simple no frills driving experience.
The gtr amazes me(just like previous models) with its ability to effortlessly crush most cars on the road.

I'll take the sagaris please, there's more life in it.

the sagaris for me 2 the gtr is a great car but it just looks like a 350z with a bodykit very capable but ultimately boring in the fact that its just another mass produced ugly japanese car

After owning a T350 do you even have to ask this question Justin!?

I can appreciate the GTR as a feat of engineering and one of the quickest things out there but for how long will it be exciting? I saw one at the very disappointing 'Live Action Arena' yesterday and it was like "Nissan I can't hear you?" it was the same at the Brighton Speed Trials last summer.

You know full well the amazing sound of that S6 so that alone should make your mind up.

Sag, Sag and once again Sag yes

It said in the opening post that it had to be your ONLY car, used for everything

They are BIG cars and I wouldn't fancy parking one at Tescos. A TVR would be seen and not dinged, your average driver won't even notice the GTR and smash their door into it.
I'd agree with that so Sag would win easy.

In Sainsburys (hate Tesco!) every shopper would be eyeing it (unlike a GTR which to the man in the street would just be 'another' car) and no one would park too close to the Sag for fear of dinging it, as said.

High horse? rolleyes

I though the choice was having to be made on the basis of it being the only car?

Which one would you pick from the above? Taking everything into consideration.. It would be your only car, but you don't need to drive to work.. It would be used for everything else.

Running costs, useable, price, looks.. etc.

Not sure I can vote on this, they are very different cars. The GT-R should be more headache free, but despite it being fantastic I can't help feeling it's missing something the TVR has.

The TVR is fun to look at, sit in with the engine off, stand next to while it's ticking over and fun to cruise at 25mph through a built up area in.

The GT-R doesn't really do any of those things.

But the GT-R does give you the confidence to jump in it at any time any place and any conditions and use it. It is also supremely fast and capable.

But is the GT-R too fast??? Once you've got past the enjoyment of simply mashing the pedal (which you can only do so many places on the public roads) does it become too good and capable for street use?

The TVR you can play with and get it to misbehave at low speed and I think overall have more fun even if you get were you are going 20 mins later.

Heart says TVR
Head says GT-R

But for me motoring is about passion, so... TVR! smile

How can you make a judgment if you haven't driven it?

Evo think it has more character than a 911 or an R8.

In any case, I'd rather have a T350C than a Sagaris because it doesn't look like they let loose the drive-thru krew on it.

I'm making a judgement based on what I have seen - it could be the best drive in the world ever but I still couldn't fall in love with the looks or styling. I'm sorry if that doesn't qualify me to have an opinion on this subject but most people on here have also never driven either and still have an opinion - why aren't you picking their comments up as well?

A Porsche Boxster/Cayman is a far more capable drive than my TVR but I still chose the TVR (and I have driven both), sometimes you need something that tugs the heartstrings before you've even gotten near it and thats what the T350 did for me. I'm truly sorry for having an OPINION that differs from yours....

I voted for the Sagaris, although I hate standing out and like to blend in, so I think given the choice in real life I may end up with a black GTR smile

Sure you want it in a lairy colour? wink

Honestly? The GTR is written about in the latest EVO as destroying the v10 R8 and the new 911TT. They say it's amazing, fun, and practical.

I would guess that the Sag is roughly the same speed (probably slightly slower TBH), but as everyone has pointed out, it's a real event to drive. I have never seen builders hold up two lanes of traffic so they could let me out and hear the sound of it.... but it happened in the Sag.

I would also say that it isn't a beast to drive - it is amazing. Scapel sharp, lithe, poised and balanced. It doesn't try to kill you or spit you off into the landscape.

I'm not saying you won't be able to get TVR parts in the near future, just that eventually they will dry up.
Unless your crystal ball has just told you that, this is a statement that is unsupported by fact. The Multipart deal stands, parts are easier to come by than they were when TVR were still churning out cars, and if one day it should cease to exist I'm pretty damn sure the independant aftermarket will take over given the willingness of TVR owners to actually spend money on maintaining their cars (an increasingly rare breed overall).
I stand down smile I, wrongly, assumed that the parts would dry up. I had no idea they had such a good parts network in place. That's very reassuring. Don't get me wrong, I love TVRs... just can't afford one.

To be fair though, I was careful to say eventuallywink

Second car, Sagaris all day.

If I had to use it for anything other than pleasure, GTR, purely so I could switch off when long distance driving / not worry about it starting (ducks for cover)
