Why??
The interior looks about right.
You need smileys for comments like that to avoid your comment being taken at face value by some around here....The interior looks about right.
In a land full of Pickups, mopeds and Honda Jazz, he'll get away with it, women in Thailand don't give a st about the car you drive anyways, as long as its not a Suzuki SJ.
respect to that Thai body shop, I 've had to work in Thailand, in 40 degress heat, doing anything is hard work, never mind working in a bodyshop!.
Just hope the paint job works out well, there is alot of dust over there!
only ever seen a couple of Chavliers and one or two Calibras out there?

Are you mad?Soovy wouldn't be seen dead in that.
It is a manual.
Ahh just seen the front quarter light, Calibra!
Anyone remember the Calibra/Tessarossa Kit, there used to be a red one in Lisburn , Northern Ireland about 12 years ago. It looked terrible then!

I'm always of the opinion that these things are a complete waste of money. They usually stand out from a mile away and for the cost of carrying out that amount of work on a car over in here in the UK you could buy yourself a decent used performance car.
However as somebody has already mentioned Thailand has some serious import taxes on any imported cars. It's something like 250% so performance cars really are for the super rich out there. That's why the likes of Mercedes have a factory in Thailand and produce a range of vehicles under a different brand name.
You can't blame the owners to a certain extent. The cost of carrying out the work is probably far less than here, the Thai ladies aren't going to have a clue and the chances of pulling upto a real Aston at the lights is almost nil!

Obvious replica. Not enough Ford switchgear.Andy,
You said "Thanks, but not quite what I meant. I just don't understand the appeal of something which looks like an Aston but is actually a cavalier".
So this is not appealing: http://www.f40.co.nz/f40/Car.aspx (Lexus powered).
A far easier to maintain engine and no bag tank to change everytime to visit Mac Donalds
I think the guys talented and with the right finishing will look way better than any Calibra.
Phil

So what we are saying here is that while it is heresy, in this case it isn't quite an abomination? As for the Mustang based one - wasn't the one used for the ice stunts in Die Another Day actually based on uncle Henry's V8 running gear from an Explorer or something daft like that???
Indeed it was... I believe it was for reasons of space in the engine bay.turbo-ww said:

Yet you can build and drive the brand voted most iconic in the UK? I would like to see the finnished article.
