Washing your car in winter - any point?

You should in theory wash your car more in the winter - all of the crap on the roads (especially salt) is harsh on the cars body work and wheels. If you only do a headlight and number plate wash then the salt sits there potentially for 2-3 months just eating away at whatever it can find.
If it's a beater car that you're not bothered about that's another thing but your P&J? Needs washing!

a while ago me and a friend had the same model of car, built in the same year. I washed mine carefully, every other sunday in winter. it was black, and really showed up the dirt.
His car was silver, and he could 'get away' without washing it as much, you couldnt see the dirt so much.
A few years down the line, my paintwork was still in lovely condition. His had quite a bit of tin worm here and there. make of that what you will
