Looked at Seat Leon FR TDi, it is a disappointment inside.
The Exeo has the old A4 interior.

A4 Cabriolet isn't it?

Interested in one of these myself, do they still do a 4x4? If so, is it any good?

They do the Octavia Estate 4x4 with either the 160bhp 1.8TFSI, 105bhp 1.9TDI and the 140bhp 2.0TDI and a 140bhp 2.0TDI 4X4 Scout though I don't know what Scout means exactly

The Scout is a 'crossover' look estate with raised ground clearance, big black under-bumpers and fake alloy sump guards.

Oh right, I could just work out that the 2.0TDI is the only Scout with AWD.

I tried to buy one. Went in and left salesman in no doubt I was ready to buy. Absolutely no deal offered at all. Derisory p/x and not a penny discount. That, combined with the barmy decision not to offer a MFSW unless you buy the DSG, sealed it. I really wanted one. That salesman put me off owning the brand completely. (Still like them though)
Strange how dealerships differ. When I ordered my fabia vRS from them back in 2006 the salesman was very pleasant and very accomodating.

I call you on your inexpensive motoring claim. You could have bought a 3 year old Passat 2.0 TDi with some gadgets, got similar economy and saved £10k on depreciation wink
Hmmm...cheapest Passat on the VW site (assuming you'd want full warranty and dealer backup, like for like) with the 170bhp diesel engine and parking assist is £13.5k for an '07 plate with 10k miles on it. Just makes the Skoda seem even better value to me. Of course if you brave the classifieds then there are bargains out there, but so too can be said of the Skoda, both old and new shape.

Thats really good. I never knew Skoda had an armed forces scheme as I will be eligible for that. I know Ford do big discounts, like an ST3 new for £16995 but I dont fancy them much.
I may look into it again later in the year when I need a car. Its the Falklands for me tommorrowfrown
I found the discount via forcescarsdirect.com Very helpful and they access the discount via a network of dealers. Mine will be delivered through Hortons Skoda in Lincoln. The irony is that I asked them for a quote last week and they couldn't touch the best one I had up until then, There was a bit of conjecture about whether you could combine the generous discounts with the subsidised PCP finance, found out today via forcescarsdirect that you could.

I had an ST3 on the Ford Military discount scheme three years ago, I actually made money on that car! Enjoy the Falklands! I have done my time down there - 1990, 1994/5 and 2006!
thumbup Good luck with your new car

Octavia ordered this afternoon!

Got an even cheaper price than I thought possible, through a Skoda Armed Forces discount scheme! Car ordered:

Skoda Octavia 5DR 2.0 CR TDI vRS Hatchback
Candy White
Options:
Maxidot
MDI
Rear Park Assist
Spare Wheel

Total price was £16195 with the options and also accessed a cheap PCP promotion. Cheaper than DrivetheDeal by £300 and the cheapest anywhere I could find!

Should hopefully be a relatively inexpensive few years of motoring! Factory order time is 8-12 weeks.
I'll be interested to see what you think of your swap.

I had a Vrs Tdi (PD Lump) that i chopped in for my ST a couple of years ago, apart from fuel consumption i prefer my ST just a smidge more than the Vrs. I liked the Skoda alot but felt it was missing a little something compared to the focus.
I'd be interested to see what you think when you get yours, although it has the new CR engine compared to my old one so will be more refined i guess.

It's not a swap. I had the ST nearly three years ago, I've had about 6 cars since then! But I will certainly write up the CR vRS once I get it and have driven it a while.

So I'm thinking 2.0TFSi DSG Hatch, MSFW+BT, leather, heated seats, maxidot, light asst, MDI, rear parking sensor. Colour Corrida red. Still only £18-odd K.

Has anyone successfully managed to get the DTD price AND the Skoda current low rate finance deal? It says on DTD FAQ that mfr finance deals are generally available through them, but it is a bit vague. Oh and are the finance deals only until end March? Apparently the zero-rate finance deals is for 50% dep and over 2 years, not sure I can quite manage that one, but the 4% low rate sounds like a goer.

Down our way they have blue, grey and silver ones too. Whenever I see an Octavia in the mirrors, or parked up in a layby, I make sure I'm not the fastest thing around.

I think there are better deals than DTD.

I was at my local dealer on Saturday, as we're shopping for either a Superb Estate or an Octavia Estate.

As the Superb estate is so new there are no real deals to be had yet, but the Octavia is a different matter.

The current deal is VAT free + either 2k off petrol or 2.5k off diesels, and can be combined with finance.

I make it that a 2.0T vRS at a list of £19904 could be had for £14420. (£19904*0.825) - £2000 = £14420

As this seems like such a good deal, I'm tempted to drop the idea of the superb and get an Octavia instead.

The prices are good for sure.

One point to note in your calculation above, assuming you're trying to get the net amount, is that it should be £19,904/1.175 (not £19,904*0.825).

My initial enquiry to a local dealer resulted in this offer:
"based on a Octavia Estate vRS 2.0 FSI (Petrol) with metallic paint and rear parking sensors...
The on the road price should be £20660 but with the VAT saving the price is bought down to £17702.88."
But that's without haggling.

There's a DSG TDi for sale just up the road from me, I'm tempted to go and have a look...........

I really, really wish I could have had an Octavia over my Golf, but it wasn't on the company car list - It might be my next car though.

However, I did this with my old Leon - I really, really wanted on and when I got it it was a huge disappointment...

It must have killed the used market, I wouldn't have been too pleased if I had bought before the offers were introduced.

The attractive offers and the finance deals make this used example look a bit expensive:

To quote the last line of the advert.

"I paid nearly £21K for this car in September 09 so somebody will grab a bargain...Am looking for £16,250ovno"

He obviously didn't shop around.
