It passes mot's with that plate so I can only assume it's legal.

It probably does pass its MOT and 99% of the time it's not a problem. VOSA round here are right sods and would have you pulled over for it. They've got nothing better to do sometimes. I have a small plate on my car but it's not cut down. It's actualy legally made as a smaller plate with all the relevant stuff on it.

Come and live in Ulster - the peelers here don't seem to care what you do, although I'm sure that the legal requirements are the same as GB. There's umpteen German cars in my town with German-style plates, and Citroens with French-style.
Nobody says a thing. The guys who make these plates must be laughing all the way to the bank. The funny thing is, some of the cars are not even made in that country, let alone registered there. Can't understand the attraction, personally.

So by the rules of the thread it is a bit chav. Sorry Haggis. By that reasoning, is my dad's chav too? It's cut down and missing the postcode for the manufacturer off the bottom. Cut down plates are 100% legal as long as there is an 11mm border. Tough one that, are his initials JYA or is it some sad attempt to spell 'See ya' ?

It's cut down and missing the postcode for the manufacturer off the bottom. Cut down plates are 100% legal as long as there is an 11mm border. It's a matt black RS, he may find himself "judged" long before they reach the plate.

Everyone will think Chav Boy irrespective of content. Well, I'd posted it in both threads, as I wouldn't know what kind of opinions this plate would get. He's a local radio presenter, calls himself 'Chaz Boy' anyway (obvious clue being the plate!) What's the betting he found a cheapy number plate and then started calling himself "Chaz Boy" so it looked like he had a good plate!

Pork said: PS - on the spaced front, two of my plates would look better without spaces. Until the DfT changes their rules (possibly happening this summer), then they will be displayed with the correct spaces. Once the DfT say removal of spaces if legal, they'll be updated. In the absence of a *rubbing hands together in eager anticipation* smilie, I shall simply say..

I can't stand the M155 Xxx plates either. Whilst correctly spaced on the whole they are invariably on Minis and others of that ilk bought by daddy...
