No, we just like laughing at people who mis-space plates to try and underline how ridiculous the idea is. It's irrelevant whether an ANPR camera can read it or not. Seriously, if you're desperate enough to want a word on the front and back of your car, by mis-spacing, get a tin of paint and paint it on.
As for pretentious, that would be the people who mis-space them, surely?
Pretentious is my problem with chav plates. Pretending a 4 is the letter A, 3 is an E and so on or mispacing or representing a registration to pretend it spells something is just that - pretentious.It's just the same as pretetending a fake Rolex bought from a Geezer in the pub is the real thing or a Romford spray tan is the same as a month in St Tropez - it's not. Anybody who pretends otherwise is really just saying somthing about themselves and their needs to attract attention and look better or more important/wealthy/successful in the game of life we all play to some extent than they really are. Personally I think anybody who feels desperate enough to attract attention to themselves by Chavplating is really just revealing themselves as an egotistical Cockend and worthy of nothing but contempt.
