RE: Rolls-Royce Ghost - First Drive
Discussion
41 replies and not one person has mentioned the L.E.D lights on the front of it, if this was an Audi then there would of been 10 pages discussing how you look a tt and a jumped cock with them on you're car!
No one else here not liking the dashboard? Doesn't look special enough for me.

Have seen one 3 time at my local hand wash recently, its a black one, beautiful car great presence but IMO black isnt the best colour for it,dont know what is,maybe a dark metallic brown would look good and different,i think it would look good in silver even though its a little old hat now.
Cant wait to see one head to head with New Mulsanne ,very similar but equally very different

FANTASTIC CAR !!!!!!
And a brilliant write up. Humorous and very suitable, IMO.
But hey. Sublime style and dress code to ride a Rolls, Chris!
It's a Rolls Royce, not a Kenworth, Peterbuilt or Mack. Or did you assume the Rolls drives like one?

I think this one looks quite nasty next to the Phantom. The roof is too low, there is too little side glass, rear lights seem too small and tacked on, front grille is too small to recreate the presence the Phantom has. Overall I think it's very much the poor relation and while it's unfair to compare used vs. new, it would be very silly to go for this one when one could buy a used Phantom. It's not as if one could really blend in with this car, if one finds the Phantom sticks out too much for daily use, well so will this.
I suppose the Phantom could do with borrowing some ideas for its interior, but certainly not a wholesale adoption because the result is disappointing, even if some parts of it are interesting on their own. A Range Rover looks better resolved on the inside, perhaps it's the best BMW can do, after all, but this should have been superior.

Good grief, Rolls Royce feeling the need to mention power outputs, standards are slipping when Rolls Royce need to divulge power outputs instead of a simple “adequateâ€
I know what you mean, I loved the way RRMC never revealed the BHP... But I think that in certain countries the law says you have to divulge the power. It wasn't for reasons of class or decorum. It was because mercedes and bmw (and ford and vauxhall, for that matter) were showing them up.
A 2.5 ton car with under 200bhp isn't really brochure-gold.

Fantastic write up, the only thing that irks me is why is it released in California? You talk of old money and footballers being RR target market, which to my mind is back in Blighty. I know the weather is awful there in the Uk, so surely they could of post-poned the first drive?
Probably it's just me, so I'll go back to my corner now.
Have you seen the weather outside?Probably it's just me, so I'll go back to my corner now.
Saw one in Geneva yesterday. Looked great in Black with matt painted silver bonnet. Can you get brushed stainless steel as an option?
'Visible exhaust tips' caused me no offense but I'd ditch the GHOST badging on the D-pillar and boot lid and the V12 badging.
This car must have Maybach truly worried as who would favour one over this?

Even though I don't like the looks of the Maybach, I doubt they are worried because it looks to have a better interior - which is the point of the Maybach. Why would anyone want a matt bonnet?'Visible exhaust tips' caused me no offense but I'd ditch the GHOST badging on the D-pillar and boot lid and the V12 badging.

The new Ghost is an utterly gorgeous car in the metal. I had a sit in one of them during a presentation in Montreux two weeks ago and loved it to bits. I don't get the negative comments on interior design. It's a lovely place to be, modern yet luxurious and sophisticated. A Maybach, however, I wouldn't touch with a barge pole...
