Being an avid reg spotter, on any trip out, I've seen so many.

Apologies for any repeats already posted.

I know this has already been mentioned, but I thought you might like to know, and I remember seeing TOO 510W on a bright red (if I remember correctly) Porsche 928 in The Lanes in Brigton, around the early to mid 70s.

I also have photos (but can't find them at the moment) of a Porsche 928 with the Reg THE 928S, and another with POR 928 (the latter may have had an S on the end, can't remember now, was a long time ago when I saw it).

Coming out of London one night, some years back, just as I was leaving the flyover and getting onto the M4, I was overtaken very briskly by an all-black SLR, with the Reg 1 SLR.

Another night, in exactly the same spot, I was overtaken by a supercar (can't quite remember what it was) but the Reg was NOW 1F.

An old gold Cortina used to drive around the Heathrow area with the Reg CLA55Y, which I thought was quite neat.

Another one around that area, but was on nothing special as I recall, was ELV1S - and looking at askMID, it still isn't particularly special!

Living in London for nearly 40 years, great Reg's were almost the norm.

Many years ago in the days of red braces I had a porsche 928, in front of me was an old couple in an austin 1100 with the number guy592B.....so GUYS928 (my name Guy) .

I followed the couple home tried to get the concept accross to the couple driving it who must have been in their 90's. Shutters came down, got nowhere, answers such as "if you have my number how can I drive my car" etc, so I gave up.

Some years later A client of mine who had an f40 was driving along and saw a Yugo 1100 with F40 GTB numberplate, he was in his range rover at the time, he followed them while deciding what to do. At the next lights he gently rammed it, apologised and told the young couple driving it that he didn't want to go through the insurance company so how about he gave them £800 for their £300 car.

thinking like that is probably why he has an F40 and I don't

I'm sure I have an old magazine from the late 70's or early 80's with that on a gold Countach.

Probably a press car owned by Porsche, it's been on quite a few 928s,

I saw that maybe 15-20 years ago in Maidstone on a red Corvette.

What is the best supercar plate?

I was looking through a few videos of the Wilton House drive and spotted a great plate...
on a Lambo: AWE 550M (I've tried to come up with different combinations of numbers to get an AWESSOM plate.
on a Porsche: SAT 4N

maybe not a supercar, but great plate nonetheless:
on a M5: TOO 510W

Any others?

I know who owns "TOO 51OW" (currently for sale). Also "P1 GTR" which given the news of road going conversions of said machine it has become quite relevant.. It too is for sale.

Not a numberplate, but the dealer name/logo plate section.
A mate of mine has this on one of his three Ferraris.

Bit tacky maybe, but made me smile.

I follow a P1 GTR owner on Twitter and recently read he and his mate (also a P1 GTR owner) considered the plate but both felt the asking price was apparently rediculous give how few will be uk road registered.,

I saw an SL55 with IOU on the back, how that was done I couldn't tell. Also saw a giallo 360 with 50 UND on it, that did indeed look pretty sound

Sorry to repeat an old response on this topic, but the best exotic plate must be the Dodge Viper, original road test example: SSS555S. Also lawyer colleague tried to buy THE 911S from a " client". More amusing still was the Daimler-Jag seen in Lancashire in the 80,s, with appropriate bloated driver: 2 FAT.
