Great, now stick that V8 from the M3 into the Z4 for mass production and stick an M badge on it. Get it released for sale ASAP smile

unfortunatly bmw have stated a few times in the past that the m3 v8 engine will simply not fit in the production z4 body, hence no z4m versions this time.

Bugger, didn't know this was a big deal.... I was stood next to one in Frankfurt airport yesterday, saw it from behind at first and thought it was a TVR.... got up closer to realise it was a BM so had a quick look and walked on by... tumbleweed
Did look nice though.... so if anyone can get to T1 Frankfurt Main you could take as many as you want....
I am going back next Sunday and will check to see if it is still there.

What BMW usually do is lie about any special future performance models aside from the odd teaser, meanwhile they make it in secret and then either launch it as a special production model (aka M3 CSL) to renew interest in an outgoing model line or just show the prototype (aka M5 lightweight) as a sort of 'look what we could have built if we thought more than 4 of you would actually buy one at a price that would make us a profit...'

I understand that the wing on the rear is purely for function, but they couldn't they have made it appear a little less "bolted on"?

Mean looking car though - matt black anyone?

What they both said!

I have the new Z4, and although not with a terrifying engine, still prefer it without that "bolted-on rear wing" (as an other member wrote).

Still think the old Z4MC looks better.

OOOOh, I thought GT3 rules required you to run the same kind of engine as in homologation road car?!?!? Does this mean we will see a V8/M3 Engined Z4? The 370z might have a fight on it's hands!
Z4 CSL would be a winner, safe 450 bhp V8, fixed roof, as much weight binned a possible set of BBS exclusives. Nice.
Yes please lick
+ 1, this could be the new lightweight legend after the 3.0 CSL, E30, £46 M3 CSL and would be a good alternative to the 997 GT3 & RS.

If there is a God, BMW will make a Z4M with the S65 V8 from the M3.

Oh yes it will yes

Yes, looks great! However, unless wanting to make a statement in FIA-GT racing, there are lots of cars I would rather have for that lofty sum.

Imagine, while spending WAY LESS than half of that, the kind of high-spec, road-legal Ultima you could create...with A/C! Let's see... 1,000 HP twin-turbo, best gear box on the planet, fuel cells, fire systems, radio communications system, new driving suit, helmet, cool vest, 10 sets of tyres with 2 sets of wheels, car trailer with living quarters, nice truck to pull with, 500 gallons of fuel...

Put some good power in a stock Z package and they'll have a winner. Of course, then it would compete with their other marks market share.
