Theres something about the skinny hipped kettle that just doesn't sit right with me.
The 964 carried the slim hips off, the 993 the same but the 996 just didnt.
Does with the aero on the GT3 admittedly but without it, it just doesn't.

Meanwhile, down at the Vario-Rob end of the paddock, another old dowager is available.

Look at it; you don't drive that, you operate it.
It does beg the question though; was everyone born before 1966 terminally short sighted?
Scouse, Bolton are we to stand for this sort of cheek? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2099770.htm

I’ll have you know I was born in 1970 and never underestimate the sort of hold an onboard computer had over me at the age of twelve. By this time tomorrow I’ll be able to sit in my garage pressing all those buttons.
So there ………………………providing they actually work.

After 4 minutes of research (speaking to DeR) I've wandered off the 968CS idea.
Something simple, cheap, and relatively unassuming is calling me now;

Or is it not sufficiently mental/expensive/rare/unreliable enough for this thread?

Nevertheless, have ploughed through page after page of ste masquerading as 'immaculate', 'cherished', or 'lady owner' (which if my lady is anything to go by will mean it'll be demolished) - I'm really thinking that's a very nice little device indeed.
Either that or I dredge up this glorious 993 from earlier in the week

Get the engine bay looking like less of a Cleveland brothel and the interior less of its northern Italian counterpart and you’d be well on your way as I gather she does ‘go’ a bit.
More importantly its not comprised of tin worm and filler so not like when it left the factory
LHD - i have a question re: RR Sports and the online configurator thingy.
Not a completely useless question, as 'we' will be getting either an RR Sport or Evoque 5dr when we return from Mexico in 2yrs.
We would like a RR Sport TDV6 HSE in Bali Blue, with the Tan Premium Perf. seats.
But on the configurator, it won't let you spec them together, i can spec the tan, but only with the Baltic Blue.
Now, if we're spending £60k on a car, i'd rather like to have it in the spec i want, whether some marketing bod in Range Rover thinks it looks good or not.
Can it be done?

It'll be the last car you'll ever buy as you'll never be able to sell it.
Bali looks superb with Ivory.
Whatever you go for, the extended leather package is a must.
If i was to spec one:
Sport HSE: Nara Bronze with Almond - Straight Grain wood and Nutmeg carpet and dark top roll - Extended leather package - 20" 5 spoke wheels in silver finish.
FF A/B: Bournville with Parchment, Black top roll and black leather headlining - 14 piece cherry wood. 20" Vogue SE wheels.

Not particularly as it happens - rust aside.
The C43 isn't much of an AMG - being not much more than an airbox, chip, wheels, and shocks type of thing.
The C36 which proceeded it is more akin to the B3 3.3 of the same period - bespoke engined lunacy.
I'd have a C36 over the C43 every time.
I still hold out some hope of being able to experience a form of C43 itnf, after which point, we shall reconvene to appraise things. The C43 isn't much of an AMG - being not much more than an airbox, chip, wheels, and shocks type of thing.
