Chaps, these OEM Bose systems that these Audi's and Merc's come with.
How council are they? Can they rattle yer fillings out, or will I be searching out upgrades?
the one in my S3 was ace! It was more about quality that outright noise. GF's upgraded setup in her MG was louder but i always thought my S3 had better quality and some substance to it. I cant see why you'd ever want to upgrade it.How council are they? Can they rattle yer fillings out, or will I be searching out upgrades?

When all is said and done, the spell is still strong with this one.

After the more obvious contenders F40 et etc the 456 is still my most favoured Ferrari, a nice navy one, manual box and few days away on the continent to sweep her up through the Alps.
Well it puts you on your toes on a grim Friday morning, still a lorry should be arriving in a few hours with the new arrival tethered to the back.

The Bose system in her TT is probably the best OE kit I've experienced in a car. It's fantastic; the sound quality and the ability to handle endless bass belies it's humble speaker count and less than ideal packaging. How council are they? It certainly sounds better than the £1500 install I once had in my car as a nipper.
It's about clout, yet with sensitivity.
I've the DSP in the Funf, and it's good, but when you need some clout the twin 10" subs can get a bit rattly, and there isn't any way of upgrading the amp - you can buy better speakers, but thats it, and that doesn't really help.
I know I'm a deaf but I still like me tunes innit.

Get all the speakers reseated with gaskets (possibly replaced if the subs have been given a hammering) then consider the environment and get busy with the dynamat. Then if it's still lacking, upgrade the speakers.I've the DSP in the Funf, and it's good, but when you need some clout the twin 10" subs can get a bit rattly, and there isn't any way of upgrading the amp - you can buy better speakers, but thats it, and that doesn't really help.

Cars are essentially st environments in which to listen to music but the best bang for buck is to consider the environment rather than the electronics.

In the Audis they're not bad as factory fit goes. How council are they? Can they rattle yer fillings out, or will I be searching out upgrades?
They're a pig to get rid of though...
I've still yet to find a car with an aftermarket stereo which has the treble/midrange/bass balance even close to right.

Cut up inner tubes another use or indeed dynamat offcuts.
