That or it was specifically bought to sell on for profit, but the seller isn't enough of a trader to not have to register stuff to themself.

Either way, tread warily. Many is the highly priced E30 my partner & I have looked at in the last twelve months that's held together almost entirely by rust, whereas a few of the cheaper ones can be almost rot free by comparison.

Actually, how much are you planning to spend on an E30 Woody? Do you want just a bare bone car that will do for a project, or do you actually want a good one?

I know of at least one going begging, not cheap compared to some, but as far from a pile of crap (without being a pristine and priced to match 325i Sport/M3 etc) as it's possible to get with them IMO.

Could anyone do a HPi for me, off to see the E30 tomorrow. Would be much appreciated[/cheeky]

That 456 is awesome. Beautiful striping on the lawn.
What's the registration number?
G28KGT on 175k miles. Many thanks in advance.
All HPI clear.

318i 2 door in white
First Registered 01/08/1989
9 owners - current since 06/09/2010
Thanks Loony, that's a great help.

Re: This particular car, from ebay feedback it looks like he's a part-time trader so that info doesn't surprise me. If it's as described then it should be a decent car, hopefully.

Looking for something around a grand which is most importantly solid and preferably with an M42 16v engine

Ideally, although the car in question is a converted 318i. Thinking it could be a fruitless search though considering how mint my last one was for the price of a rough example.

Guys, a question, is the 328 Coupe Sport exhaust the same as a 328i Cabrio?

Reckon a black steering wheel would cure most of that.

Granted it wouldn’t be my first choice and it does look like Centre Court in that cabin but what a truly wonderful device it is.

I’d go so far as saying of pretty much every car built over the last twenty years or so, nothing exudes quite the same level of ‘correctness’ as the 456?

I thought your mantra was that cars began and ended with the Sagaris....didn't that have a roof?

Smoother than a puma cheating at backgammon, I kid you not.

As discussed with Bolt’ earlier, she was driven straight down to the local BMW dealer which may seem slightly odd but be assured these boys are very good and a couple of their technicians worked on them twenty five years ago.

Truly she is better than I could ever have hoped for and with a little bit of expenditure will be absolutely A1+.

Importantly no rust, the headlining is A1, everything works, all the glass is original, all the servicing is indeed BMW, the paint is almost perfect throughout, original unused tools, shrink wrapped first aid box still in the rear armrest, mechanically tight as a drum and virtually unused inside.

Oh yes, the wireless is a Blaupunkt Montreal and it’s most tasty and would look a treat in the Deauville.

The one real killer are its booties, of course they are metric and the cost of TRX’s is on the upside of lethal, it will cost as much as full set of Cups for the CSL.

The dealer principle who I've known for donkies years - he even sold the old man his 3.0 Si thirty five years ago – has offered me a very reasonable profit on the car already but I’m not for selling her anytime soon.

Had to go back some forty pages to dredge the pics up.

Magnificent looking device; just needs an East German border crossing on the driveway to compliment it.
