Is it just me or does it look a bit more like the old TT now...
+1 - I had to look again to see why - its the increased front air intakes leading up to squeared off arches like the old TT was - I had one. Very nice car TT180 in Oz very light and quick as not hampered by extra weight of quattro. Not much understeer as I didnt have the recall anti-sway bar option fitted so it still tucked in in corners...

Is it me ...... or is there anyone else out there who thinks that the "ubiquitous LED daytime running lights" are a load of old cock.

They are incredibly annoyingly blinding when you get an Audi up your arse (if you'll pardon the expression).

But it seems that they are somehow the most 'trendy' or 'cool' things to have on your car.

Just helps to make you look more of a plonker IMHO.

So I wonder if this finally marks the death of the VR6? A shame if it does.

Yes there is, but its not the old 20V from the MK1, its a new TFSi unit that came out a couple of years ago.

What an irrelevant car... A used Boxster/Cayman for me any day
Try getting a boxster as a company car for the same money.

Irrelevant for you perhaps, not for everyone.

Torque figure an error, surely?
Yes, it is. The correct figure is 207lb/ft for the newish 210ps engine.

The current 3.2 V6 is circa 280bhp isn't it? At least i'm sure the one in my dad's A5 is.
Nah, it's 250bhp. Given the extra weight of 4wd and the the boat anchor that is the v6, it's actually no quicker than the 2.0 TFSI.

The VR6 block getting its usual slaying….8P3 S3 S tronic is 1475kg and 8P2 3.2 S tronic is 1600kg. Clearly, there is a weight penalty that correspondingly induces increased understeer in the 3.2, but neither are track-biased cars.

[Weights quoted are from Audi UK brochure- Vehicle’s unladen weight without driver
(calculated in accordance with the current version of Directive 80/1268/EEC)].

I was no fan of the original TT but atleast it was distinctive when it first appeared.

The new one may have grown up but it seems to be getting blander. It seems a very ordinary looking car.

So the car with 'Style over Substance' seems to be losing its style. wink

The original TT I thought was quite a nice looking car - compact with clean lines. The new ones seem a little fat and bloated. Anyway isn't the new Peugeot thingy supposed to be the new kid on the block?

Didn't the new(ish) 20v I5 in the TT make the V6 a bit irrelivent anyway?

Owned by the sort of plonker who has x200 blueray DVD's all neatly stacked so there's less than 0.1mm offset from one to the next, a draw full of all his previous ipods and mobiles, a full size snooker table that's never been used and 3 sets of unused, unopened timberlands in the bedroom cupboard.

IN SUMMARY: 996 GT3RS or a Caterham R500

This maybe the engine from the A5 and A4 with 210ps and 258lb/ft and so probably is the correct torque figure.

The engine in the Golf GTI which has 210PS and 207lb/ft does not have valvelift technology.

Surely the A4/ A5 2.0T unit wouldn't fit in the TT engine bay?
