Forced induction engines produce far less CO2 and get better fuel economy than a similarly powerful, larger N/A engine,
A 330i BMW produces 272bhp with around 175g emissions. What petrol turbo engine beats that?
Agreed the BMW petrols are exceptional, shame they are so unpopular. You see people buying the 330d over the 330i even if they only 5000 miles a year.
ok agreed BMW have fantastic petrol engines but in general engineering terms, my original statement is true, but there will always be exceptions! smile

We have been seriously considering a TT or TTS coupe to replace my wifes Mini Cooper S and I have to say that the TT presents a compelling proposition in that price band if you like to drive quickly (as the Galactic Emperor does) but don't want to drive the door handles off it.

The interior is a very nice place to be, much better IMO than my 997 which costs more than twice as much.

Sticks.

I got mine as a moderately sporty but practical hatchback and distance cruiser, both of which it does well, if not particularly economically. Wouldn't have considered a 4 pot FWD car tbh, might as well buy a Golf, but each to their own. Drl's don't do it for me either, bit embarrassing imo.
