RE: Video: Venom GT On The Road
Discussion
Video is mostly annoying, really. Between the matt black, the motion, and the fading it's damned near impossible to get a clear idea what it looks like. The static shots on the website are a little better, but with nothing else in shot you can only guess at the proportions. Silly buggers, they are presumably trying to sell this...

Teaser... Try and find it in a dictionary...As been said before, there will be more professional videos out soon without a doubt. Just hope they don't put any music on top of the soundtrack.
I'd like to retract my "it will just look like a exige from the rear view mirror comment.
Looks on the public roads
As for the production, it s a teaser and it sure teased, got us all beging for more hasent it?
So it's done what it's ment to do.
I say take it to the autobahn hit 260mph in it, when drive it back. That would be a news story!

Also seems to still be registered as a Lotus with a 2.0 engine when you put the registration into the DVLA tax disc check. Either way, I'm still very quite impressed with the whole concept of the car.

Company boss John Hennessey:
"It was just as happy to meander along at 20 mph through English country villages as it was to effortlessly accelerate to 120 mph".
Admitting that in print is a little cheeky!

I followed this car on the M40 and then onto the M5 about three weeks ago, even late at night it looked stunning.
I wasn't aware what it was at the time as I'd never seen an Exige with rear tyres so wide but I guessed it was something a bit "special"
In the interests of trying to establish what it was I overtook it at speed and then slowed to allow it to pass.
Its driver then proceeded to give me a an impressive demonstration of just how quick it really is
I only realised what it was when it was featured in the Sunday Mirror a couple of weekends ago (and no, I don't buy the Sunday Mirror)
P.S According to the Sunday Mirror it's fitted with a "Recaro" gearbox

Is this not just a really expensive way to make an Ultima GTR?
So true... Well as long as we discount the - Modern monocoque chassis
- Modern alloy suspension.
- Carbon fiber body.
Though in fairness the Ult does benefit from the 80's derived bug eye look.
Sorry...... I actually LOVE the Ultima but do you really think there has been no automotive development in the intervening 20 years. Makes you wonder why Ferrari even bothers.

I've always had a hankering for an exige, but always felt they were ultimately underpowered. but a 750hp superchared v8? That sort of torque might be a bit of overkill for that poor chassis.
While I wish the venture every success and deeply lust after one of these, the organisers of that "event" must have very good lawyers, or are just extremely stupid. The invalid tax disc alone would give the authorities the legal right to impound and crush the car as well as invalidate any insurance, if it even had any. That's a hell of a risk for a bit of a teaser video.

I feel almost guilty at not being overly excited by this, sorry!
And I prefer supercar engines to be high pitch screamers, as much as i love muscle cars and the V8 rumble.
+1. It looks the part, and make no mistake the soundtrack is better than my Ford Puma...And I prefer supercar engines to be high pitch screamers, as much as i love muscle cars and the V8 rumble.
...I just didn't get that shivery feeling I got when I heard the Zonda R video.
I may not be being fair. I mean what is the price difference?
