Now that's a proper car round 't Ring.

Not for the faint hearted, that's for sure.

I'd love one. Proper hard core, old school racer.

Lovely cars although far too expensive for what they are. Should be half the price IMO.
Have you actually seen what GD produce? They are at the top of the tree product/quality wise, in their sector of the industry. The sheer amount of time, intellect and craftsmanship, coupled with astonishing performance that go into the GD cars make this a comparatively inexpensive beastie.

For half the cost you can get a AK Cobra replica or a Dax Cobra replica...both of which wouldn't see where the hell this thing went.

Watching that monster overtake a GT3 RS like it was standing still has put a massive smile on my face. I want one. Now.

Trust me, I did 8:30-ish in a proper specced Z06 and it was pure R&R. With 45 secs shaved of . . . whoah.

Nope, Phil James.

A few of mine then:

Almost touching . . .

. . . and after an unfortunate touch.

Why have the speedo readings? Its obvious no car can acclerate 140kph to 260kph in 4 sec. (A Veyron takes over 7 secs to do 160kph to 250kph.)

Leaving Porsches looking like they are stabnding still is easy, even in a car which does jsut 140mph flat out like this 235bhp K Series engined Caterham R500 (bridge - bridge in 8.07) with traffic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwVrkg2oE8M

And if you want faster try an SR8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwtyZosuPNE under 7 mins bridge - bridge

I'm not saying the T70 is rubbish, but its likely got an LS9. I wouldn't /didn't buy a DG T70 though as I found the proprieter an objectionably arrogant man when I met him at the Peterbrough show in 2009.

And as for building one of these cars for £30k forget it. Wheels Tyres and Paint would not leave much change from £10K - and its a pretty rubbish SBC and G50 with no adapter plate you'll get for £7500.

Like a decent spec Ultima, GT40 or whatever, all these cars cost in the region of £60k to build. I know, I'm building something pretty similar.

Don't be fooled.

Great car. Love the comedy speedometer; daffodils in a stiff breeze don't wave about that fast.

the build pics are mine and i dont mind the link being posted, if anyone wants any info on a self build ask away. you can build one for £30k at a real push, mine was about 36k all up. factory cars are built to a very high standard for about 8k if you dont want to do it yourself.
the one in the video is a very high spec ls7 with kinslers and was dynoed at 690bhp and 600ft/lb. the 0-100mph time on that car is about 5s and 0-60 was i believe timed at under 3s by the previous uk owner before it was sold abroad. steve who owned it would probably admit it was possibly too high a spec, in a 900kg car, its a proper animal, he has had over 190mph on gps in it.
top speed on ring lap was 177mph on gps, credit to the driver as its a proper lairy animal with that power. mine is a handful with a 450-500bhp and 400+ft/lb maybe ls6 and handles superbly, but will power oversteer at will and light up the tyres whenever you want. i wouldnt be able to push mine like that at the ring purely cos i aint got the nads of steel to do it there and in the back of my mind would be the 2 yrs it took to build and finish fully!

imho the best looking car ever built and the best looking replica kit car on the market, GD quality is great on chassis etc. not cheapest build car but very strongly made and should last years.

i have watched the video twice now and the way it blitzes other cars is just like it was when over here. mine picks up speed like a crazy thing and is more than enough in an open top 900kg car so that thing must be damn scary at the ring! respect due!

Thats not bad actually. I'm sure I saw one for sale in the PH classifieds for more than £60k a few months ago, so looks like I was right on the money. hehe

the video clip is the same car, it went abroad and for a bit less than the asking price.

Stunningly beautiful, hairy, scary thing. Love it.

The irony of FA not liking someone because they were arrogant amused me greatly considering the tone of his post wink

I was a passenger in a CanAm Ultima: 383 topspecced beast with 600 brake on tap via a superb Pork box. Stunning stunning stunning and a nice 265 kmk with trackday gearing.

I can imagine 400 brake is way nuff to have all the fun a modest driver will ever need.
