That's pretty sweet. Glad they opted for AWD with that power!

Is the conventional C30 a good drive?

Liking this. Volvo should make it. With 4wd, Quaife torsen diffs on each axle, 400 bhp and Ohlins shockers, this thing would be a rocket ship. It would have insane amounts of traction!

I'd like to think it would be a viable successor to the 850R; a car which every Dad in the land would have given a bk to own.

Not sure how well a 400bhp C30 would sell in these times though.

Does anyone else think that this is the sort of thing Ford should have done with the Focus RS??? (Which has the same platform and engine)
Errrr Yep, hello Ford, can you smell coffee?

That looks sweeeet! Any pics of the back end??? I personally think the standard's rear ruins the appeal of it, so I hope they've tweaked it.

Love it - although I preferred the more aggressive pre-facelift look rather than the new saggy nose!

A Volvo I actually like and want. Whatever next?

How much do we think Volvo would charge for such a machine? Obviously has to be north of a Focus RS. 40K?

On the 'other' sub plot to this thread, yes they are now 'cool' its a different vote to anything German, and a different look. You takes your money.

Looks great. I was going to say that they shouldn't have used that colour, but clearly I'm wrong.

Dear Volvo...

Makes this...and make it NOW!!!!!!

I've always thought that the C30 is actually quite nice looking little motor. It just lacked that cutting edge performance model.
+1!

That's fortunate; it's not German and not a Ford wink

irrespective of the unproductionable horsepower i love this. as i said on the other thread i have been wondering (and rejected i think) about getting a c30 t5 and trying to get it like an ST/RS. this car is berrriliant and they have to make it 9or rather one that looks just like this with 280-300horses). if they got the ford 'chassis' engineers to sort it out (and get the control weights more focussy) it'd be a mega. piss all over an S3 in every respect.

Now that looks great, if they did the same thing to a V70 then I'd be very interested.

I have a question. Why are they using a big, laggy old thrust bearing K26 turbo rather than a nice, smooth spooling ball-bearing blower? A mate of mine has an S2 on a 26/27 hybrid and it produces literally no power below 4000rpm.
