Big BHP headline shocker.
What will it tip the scales at!? Car manufacturers have got wise to the fact that BHP figures sell.
It's interesting that round a track, the new breed of hot hatches with 300 + bhp are only approx 1 second a lap quicker than older 200 bhp hot hatches. Some times, less is more.
if you want low laptimes buy an exige What will it tip the scales at!? Car manufacturers have got wise to the fact that BHP figures sell.

if you want overtaking punch then more is more

Dear Volvo...
Makes this...and make it NOW!!!!!!
I've always thought that the C30 is actually quite nice looking little motor. It just lacked that cutting edge performance model.
Well, this would certainly tick that box!

...problem is if made something like this would be no less than 26/27k.
but you want it to basically be a slightly more fluid frs. and say 21k.
(no idea what a phase 2 c30 t5 costs btw!).
You are kidding, aren't you? If Volvo made this (despite it being a concept built by someone else) it would be nearer £40k IMO. After all, how much is an Evo X with the equivalent bhp? £50k IIRC. Ditto the Subaru Cosworth thingie?but you want it to basically be a slightly more fluid frs. and say 21k.

still a volvo
Maybe, however I'd want one of those volvo's. Along with a Volvo V70R which took part in a Gumball rally (from the book Our Gumball Rally, ISBN(13): 978-0753509920)I might have to get this! What V70R was it, 850 shape or curvy shoulder shape?
look at it from a business/pr perspective, surely it must cost effective to run a limited number and i mean limited <100, of these in either c30/focus guise, and just show what can be done.
how many evo's and scooby's are sold that push out the same numbers each year, if volvo or ford could match them punch for punch they could argue that a similar price tag £50k? is worth it through exclusivity and performance and still turn a profit
you never know the aftermarket bods would love replica bodykits etc to help those less fortunate (poorer) it making their standard cars look like these, they do enough of it know with the current evo's and scooby's

If Volvo want to improve their image, such a halo machine would be an excellent way of doing it. The powertrain, of course, could accidentally find its way into that new S60 as well...giving a very "...velvet glove" alternative to the M3, C63 and RS4

i.e. 'the ultimate c30 t5' rather than a 4wd effort.

Volvo is now owned by the Chinese communists. So no sale I'm afraid.
Psuedo-communists acting very much like capitalists..."True" communism has never been achieved...it's always usurped by dictators eager to exploit the power vacuum.

I'll say it again, the Focus RS is bl**dy good as it is without 4wd. A C30 with 400bhp and 4wd with 2s LSD to boot = £ 40k +.
I paid £26k for my RS last year. Saying that if Ford announced a 4wd Focus RS and had more power I'm sure it would be amazing but I am not convinced about how much better it would actually be, especially if it costs £10-£15k more in the first place.
Exactly.....like me many think it looks good for a volvo....but you know that it would cost upwards of £34,000 and thats partly why ford kept the cost down on the rs,it had to be affordable to make it accessible to rs lovers.I paid £26k for my RS last year. ....RE: Focus, it's easliy modded and with power upgrade mods would come in a lot less than the Volvo IMO!
Glad volvo have ditched the god awful Cream with Brown body kit colour scheme which was probably dreampt up by the same people that thought it would be a great idea to try and sell the VX200 by using a bearded Gryff Rhys Jones in his underpants.
