Rarely does at all IMHO.


Brand, is what they sell, an idea, a "perceived benefit for the purcashing party" so to speak......... Quality CAN be part of the "brands selling point" but at the same point can often be excluded.

Look at the brand blindness that happens with legions of people buying certain cars, locally to me, if you're in your late 20s and want something that says "STATUS" on it you buy 1 of the 2 following cars:

if you're a bit plusher, you buy

> black 3door AUDI A3 TDI (S LINE, yeaaah baby coz I iz well fly and it goes like an S3 honest)



These are bought by people with little or no interest in cars, yet claim to have all sorts of "quality" related rationale behind the purchase.

Another example, top spec AUDI A1 diesel stbox, at £30,000+........... That they're selling on the idea of doing 60+mpg....... Great, so you save money at the pumps, but have just coughed up over 30grand on a 9k POLO........



again, brand can mean many things. The marketing department of the company has to position the brand as to enable maximum effectiveness within their chosen market.

Quality is subjective...... One mans "nice switches" may be another mans "never breaks down"....... Or anothers "oooh the seats and dash are plush"
