I don't mind these. A homage to a fun set of films without having to drive an old banger. Mostly driven by women and those who like herbie. Bit of fun really, not trying too hard and certainly not out to impress anyone.

TBH it made me do a double take and put a smile on my face when I realized what it was.

Wheel arches are sometimes a give-away but its got those too. sorry i wasn't trying to be anoraky, more expressing shock that if it was a P38 someone must have spent a huge amount of cash trying to get it to look like a (not sure of model number) new shape one AND then butcher it!

Took me a bit of time to work out it was a 1998 model DSE. Current bid is £5,995

Sweet baby Jesus, my eyes burn after only a few pages of this thread!
I'll have to get on the lookout in my local area and upload some of the monstrosities from around here.

They're not hard to find. My favourite place is show cars in boring stuff. Look here - I'd guess this could have been saved with discreet paint and wheels and shown with more workable ride height. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/4011651.htm

I was trying to be anoraky! Its a very good cover-up of a P38 - but RangerRovers are not my specialist subject - I was wondering if someone in a green, wax jacket anorak could point out the give-away signs.

sorry about the poor quality. I've seen this parked in the same place now on a few occasions, not sure how clear the text will be but in the windscreen is 'Bang Tidy'. Unfortunately I doubt the owner was trying to be ironic.

The TT kit is heroically crap.
It takes a truly special kind of mind to look at a car styled as coherently as the original TT and think "I know, let's attach huge slabs of plastic here and there and see if we can't completely screw this up."
