Agreed, not to mention you can practically reach into the engine bay through that bonnet gap.

Those are fairly common. Mazda I think?
Not sure of the manufacturer, but the one's I've seen have been a good deal smaller than the one pictured, and a good deal more convincing (from the front and at a considerable distance) than that one too.

The one's I found when I searched "fake VW camper van" on google were all Subaru Sambars...

Spot the difference!
Looks like a Toyota Hi Ace to me. Those Sambas always raise a smile since it's clearly a tongue in cheek homage as opposed to a full blown copy

And another one:

I feel like there is something wrong with some of these posts as I haven't been that offended by the last few cars in this thread.

The Escort has almost certainly featured on this topic before and has been around for a long time now. it's a Reiger F40 kit that back in the 90s would be considered the daddy of wide arch bodykits and a good few £££.

To me there is a huge difference between the awful Ka with rubbish stickers and other tat stuck on and the Escort that has had an extensive bodykit blended (very well by the looks of it) into the original bodywork before finishing it with a decent paint job.
Hardly a huge difference. They both look crap, just for different reasons.
This is how a wide arch MK3 Escort should be done.

That is great; always had a soft spot for these Gartracs, though the exhaust lets it down a bit and that rear spoiler looks decidedly saggy, but otherwise spot on smile

I have to say, if I ever saw that, the overwhelming desire to run up to it and kick it as hard as possible would be strong...

Normally I don't mind so much the slightly stretched tyres look, but this was ridiculous.

That's a Dimma built show car - Dimma were/are famous for wide arch Pugs and R5GTTs in the 90s!

If I remember right it's not a turbo but it does have a intercooler in place to show that it can fit one. It's actually a 3.0 straight 6 with M3 running gear under it.

Yes that is a dimma and its up for auction with a current price of £4500 and 71 watchers smile
I'm not too sure about the front but the rear arches look very purposeful.

It was posted as an example of how a wide arch MK3 Escort should be done.
