Spotted this beauty yesterday:
Hmm, I've seen worse. The ZTs were quick cars, those roof strakes might make a real difference, especially if it's a V8. The rear wing is ostentatious but no more so than on a WRX and, again, might help keep the rear pinned if driving properly quickly. AstonZagato said:
Off topic...when did Burberry become a chav brand anyway? If you go to the Burberry store on near Sloane Street or any other one in-fact you won't see a chav within a good mile or two. Way too expensive for them and they do sell very nice clothes in there! RoverP6B said:

The likelihood of the roof strakes making any positive performance difference is effectively nil in my view, as is the likelihood of a positive benefit from that spoiler. I'm sure someone more savy on matters of aerodynamics and vehicle performance will weigh in.
Generally speaking, though, the kinds of people who screw fake chrome exhaust tips on at a jaunty angle, paint standard wheels black and remove the hub-caps to make them look aftermarket, paint lime green stripes on dark green cars and fit Lexus lights and whipped cream side skits to Rover 75 aren't the kind of people who consider the implications of a barn-door-sized wing.

It never really was, most of the clothes chavs wore that sported the Burberry check were fakes or rip-offs. They relaunched the brand successfully in the mid 90's featuring one of their signature checks more blatantly than before and the Chinese (or wherever) factories saw a market opportunity and stepped in.ManOpener said:
It's not a V8. Exhausts are wrong, the V8 has one either side. Looks to be a KV6 based on reg.

I hadn't spotted the stripe! Lexus lights I don't mind. Can't see enough of the wheels to comment, but considering the rest of the car is black, why not. Can't see the hubcaps or lack thereof. Exhaust does look a bit dodgy. Oddly, I quite like the skirts...The likelihood of the roof strakes making any positive performance difference is effectively nil in my view, as is the likelihood of a positive benefit from that spoiler. The wing is high enough from the boot lid to give downforce at speed, on a fwd car the benefits of that are moot.
The torque reaction quick lift into a fast corner could be enough to get the rear swinging round - not what you want at 60+mph. BTCC still fits big wings to FWD cars.Strawman said:

He obviously has no idea an upside down wing is going to make the back end go lighter the faster he goes as it tries to take off

Taken from another PH thread. eBay ad seems to have finished or I can't find it, but hopefully someone bought it to scrap it.
from the ad:
I KNOW YOUR WONDERING WHY IS THEIR FERRARI BADGES ON A PORSCHE CAR THE THING IS PEOPLE DONT KNOW WHAT CAR IT IS AND FALL FOR IT THINKING IT IS FERRARI ALONG WITH THE NOISE WHICH PUTS THE 458 ITALIA TO SHAME wink..... ALL THE CHROME BADGES AND STICKERS ARE GENUINE FERRARI AND CAN BE REMOVED OF THE CAR EASILY AND PUT BACK TO PORSCHE IF YOU WANTED I HAVE A SET IF YOU DO WANT TO DO THIS......BUT I WOULD LEAVE IT TO BE HONEST...THE CAR HAS HAD FORTUNE SPENT ON IT
As I recall he wanted more for it than an untarnished model of the same year with less miles blah blah. Basically your standard moron if you couldn't already tell.
The poor deluded fool will be heartbroken if he realises his Porsche is a VW in drag in the first place. from the ad:

He does know what it'll do because I told him exactly what it will do, he didn't care, why?..because Arab it spends all its time driving at 10mph bouncing the engine off of the limiter. He obviously has no idea an upside down wing is going to make the back end go lighter the faster he goes as it tries to take off

McLaren should reserve the right to repossess such cars and remove all such modifications before returning it to the owner... Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
