4,500 rpm redline?
"Yes m'lady - it's a diesel"
Why Bentley don't produce a Diesel is COMPLETELY beyond me. High Torque/Low revs is what these are all about, and what are diesels good at doing? "Yes m'lady - it's a diesel"
I really dislike the talk of smaller engines / quieter exhausts etc etc in the name of greenness but 16.7 mpg in todays climate?

Is a level of fuel economy not to be encouraged, I get that out of a V8 Jeep, this car should be doing 9 - 10mpg really. If you're going to be a bear........... be a grizzly

I think they could create a decent hybrid, except just use the engine to charge the batteries. Electric motors give instant torque that suits a Bentley, the extra weight wouldn't make much difference and they'd have enough space to ram in enough batteries to get through the emissions test just on electric, like Porsche did with the 917.
This car is definitely a grower.
I hated it when I first saw it ..... but now after a bit of familiarisation it just looks
F A B U L O U S!!!!
It's what a car like this should look like ...... massive road presence mixed with a weird mixture of quality and strangeness and "fk off I'm bigger and better than anything else on the planet-ness".
I love it. Only problem would be which to have when your ticket comes up .... this or the Phantom?
Might have to have both .... in different colours of course.
The Ghost is an also ran in this company ..... and anyway it's not a real Roller 'cos it don't have a "proper" RR radiator shell.

To help you get a sense of proportion, eight times as many new cars were sold in China last year compared to the UK.

I have a feeling it'll grow on me, but right now it just reminds me of those Chinese knock-off Rollers Doesn't have the 'wow' factor you'd want if you were buying £200k worth of car imho
Agreed. The front lights and grille also look a bit "stuck on" from the low front 3/4 angle shot too. I also think the interior doesn't have the sense of occasion of the Rolls-Royce offerings; I could understand this when they were updating the Arnage as they had to base it on what was already there, but I think it's the wrong direction for a new car.shoestring7 said:

If people in these countries actually tried a diesel engined car they'd probably be very surprised- don't think its anything a hard marketing drive can't fix surely? I mean if they buy eight times as many cars as us thats an even smaller proportion of car buyers the car company has to win over to make it a viable option.
