It has a lovely interior, but the arnage red label has something that this lacks. 220K is a mad price, 2 year old Phantom and Bentley and Arnage for that sort of money.

4,500 rpm redline?

"Yes m'lady - it's a diesel"

hehe
Why Bentley don't produce a Diesel is COMPLETELY beyond me. High Torque/Low revs is what these are all about, and what are diesels good at doing?
+1 Surely VW have some W12 turbo diesels lying around?

I really dislike the talk of smaller engines / quieter exhausts etc etc in the name of greenness but 16.7 mpg in todays climate?
I've HEARD that Bentley have taken a good look at the idea, but won't go through with it for whatever reason.
Because only Europe will accept luxury deseasels; their big markets in Asia and the US won't.

To help you get a sense of proportion, eight times as many new cars were sold in China last year compared to the UK.

Thats amazing- really puts thinks into perspective- doesn't this mean these countries really need to be doing more to tax fuel etc?

If people in these countries actually tried a diesel engined car they'd probably be very surprised- don't think its anything a hard marketing drive can't fix surely? I mean if they buy eight times as many cars as us thats an even smaller proportion of car buyers the car company has to win over to make it a viable option.
Diesel is for trucks and busses in Asia, no one with a US$500k car is going to fill up at a filthy truck depot. Fuel is not heavily taxed, and mileage traveled is low compared to US and Europe.

Do you think diesel cars would outsell petrol in the UK if fuel costs were not a big factor?

Yuck Awfull !
Another back to the past overweight lumbering monstrosity !
Another MONUMENT of the roads.
At least the lines of the old RR silver cloud had some elegance, this new Mulsane is just a LUMP.
Yuckkkkk

What! yikes i though that proves that the ghost looks far better. Imo.

And talk about bias, a pre production "spy shot" of the ghost, and a fully polished up picture of the mulsanne at the bentley stand.

What are you smoking?

If your unhappy petition that our taxes be lowered, don't complain that someone else is not being taxed enough. It's none of our business what they are taxed.

Much prefer the Bentley over the Roller. But guys I need your help.

My daughter who is a minor petrol head said - and I quote "It looks like it doesn't know if it's a hearse or a Chrysler"

Should I educate or beat her?

I think the Rolls looks very nice in that shot, tried to get both cars looking nice, but there seems to be none of the Mulsanne on the road.

IMO the Ghost 'small' in comparison to the Bentley, just doesn't give as much of an impression of a super-luxury car. Now the Phantom is right up there, the Ghost not so.

I like the way the Ghost has been pared back - understated design elements simplified and subtly expressed. Bentley too fussy and old fashioned...too bling for me.
Will give Bentley the nod for wing mirrors tho.

True true- btw I actually think this car is better looking than the Phantom or Ghost tbh!

Beautiful car. Especially like the exterior. Only minus is the steering wheel which looks a bit too Audi-derived for my taste.
