nope, I don't even recall seeing the mountings for the belts in the back of mine although you do get a nice badge and some black carpet

Sorry for the stupid question but is there really no proper seat in back of a comfort spec GT3 Mk1. I recall seeing the shape of seats but is there really no seat belt?
Nope, just lots of carpets and a couple of indentations where seats are fitted in other models. Oh, and a nice GT3 badge as Mr. Envy has pointed out. smile

Rear passengers only add weight and slow you down, see. hehe

Thanks guys

A GT3 keeps getting further away for me then. I've got a baby on the way!

No, no. You've got this all wrong. wink

The benefits of the GT3 are that it gives your partner a break from the baby duties: either you take the baby out in the GT3 to give her a break, or you take your partner out in the GT3 to give her a break. smile

Win - win for everyone. biggrin

Except for the fact you can get rear seats retrofitted to a GT3...

I had 2 of the little blighters, so was going to get a Turbo - but then the wife announced we were to be expecting our 3rd little miracle and so I went back to my original plan of getting a Mk2 '3. I mean, you can't leave one behind....right? hehe

Kids shouldn't stop you getting a toy, they just sometimes get in the way of you playing with it.

Not a cheap engine to re-fettle either.

And those brass bushes sound like they will give other components a good work out biggrin

Still want one, but it's probably going to be expensive to own one and keep it in tip-top fettle! Possibly enough to make something like a Turbo one a much more realistic proposition as they get older and older frown

Dave
Funnily enough, I could say the same about 993s - mine cost an effing fortune to keep in tip-top condition bearing in mind I was the third owner at 70k miles and the previous owner did absolutely everything by the book and more, with a ring binder full of receipts for every service, tyre, wiper blade, can of oil etc. So far the GT3 has actually been cheaper to maintain to the same standard. Oh, and a much better drive too.

A friend of mine in Germany took me around the nurburgring for a lap in one of these. He had maybe a couple of laps experience in the Porsche, while he had driven 1000s of laps in an E30 318is. The Porsche was fast, so adjustable and easy to drive. I was really impressed with the overall package. Can't knock it.

Interesting... smile

To be honest if a GT3 can be cheaper than a 993 I think I'd go for the GT3. The only 993's that really do it for me are specials such as RS, Turbo and S models, and none of those are cheap at all to the point a GT3 would be cheaper overall to own perhaps.

996 Turbo still looks a bargain these days though, very hard to ignore!

With 28 RHD GT3 MKI CS's --- they will be as rare as the new 997 GT3 RS MKII SE --- at £140k per pop ?

Maybe that's what it costs to build a car in the race car factory at Weissach smile

In Zanzibar Red ? Just two of them ...

Jeremy, can we have a few words of comparison 'twixt the GT3 and the Superlight?
